And I've got so many VF-1's I already need to build.. I've got a bunch in 1/72 and 1/48, but I could see these as being useful for displaying next to Bandai's newer 1/100 kits. I haven't heard anything about Bandai doing a 1/100 VF-1 yet. Quote
Bolt Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 These would also look great with the 1/100 armored factory set. Quote

I haven't heard anything about Bandai doing a 1/100 VF-1 yet. That’s actually why I just picked up a set. I have a feeling that Bandai will eventually get around to it, but it’s probably gonna be a while. They’ve got an issue with selling their kits on Japanese sites to foreign buyers and selling these in the states is another roadblock since harmony gold will probably pull some licensing costs Bandai doesn’t usually like to pay. It puts what would more than likely be a far superior kit in limbo for a while. And they know the vf-1 is way more popular stateside than any other design. And currently the only site that can sell Bandai kits in Japan seems to be hlj that limits the amount of kits to a 1 per customer thing. i also think Bandai is gonna cash in on the availability of other Macross series with that Disney deal and probably do a bunch of kits from zero and Frontier and Delta and maybe even stuff from 2 and a vf-4 . So for now as far as 1/100 VF-1, it’s gonna be wave kits for a bit. I already have the basic 1A set from years ago and it fairly decent. I didn’t have the cash for the super or strikes when the originally released and just picked up the supers for now. It would be kind of interesting to see if Wave would do 1/100 destroids or zentraedi mecha, but that’s wishful thinking for now. Quote
Raikkonen Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Can anyone please post pics of these in fighter mode (with Supers) alongside the HMR VF-0 and VF1, and as well with the Bandai YF-22 HG? I would like to get an idea of their scale (See if it fits with my collection) before I pull the trigger. Quote

They’re small compared to the larger hmr figures, but definitely scale better with the hg kits. I think someone did a picture with the YF-19 if I’m not mistaken Quote

Looking for scale reference as I'm planning to get a Wave 1/100 and Bandai VF-22, and paint them in the same scheme as the HMR VF-0A and display them together. Edited March 20 by Raikkonen Quote

The hmr will probably look a bit on the large size, but not as awkward as a 172 kit would since hmr is somewhere closer to 1/80 or 90. The color scheme will probably look fantastic. Maybe make sure you got enough of the colors you plan to use in case Bandai starts doing some zero kits soon. Quote

Here’s the picture treatment put up for the hg YF-19 compared to hmr VF-1the VF -1 hmr is a bit bigger than it should be, but the wave kit would be more in scale with the hg kit. I don’t think hmr is gonna look too ridiculous, but the hg kits will look better next to the wave kit for sure. Quote

Yeah, I want them alongside my HMR Vf-0's after deciding to stick only to 1/100 in general for all my crafts. Minus the upcoming Diecast HM YF-23, which will be the only exception in 1/72 in my cabinet. Quote
