Not surprising that the HMR VF-0 are mini-Arcadias, because they are designed by T-Rex as well as per scan info. It's rare Bandai acknowledges the designers.

Maybe they changed their strategy from not giving a f*** and just keeping mum to not giving a f*** and rubbing it in.

I know I'm super late to the party, but after flip-flopping the past couple of weeks, I went ahead and got the HMR VF-0S thanks to MKT and Lolicon, lol. 

Didn't really notice the "translucence" issue under normal room lighting and the plastic feels pretty much the same as the 0D. And, as MKT mentioned, for such a small thing, the overall fit and finish of this thing (in all 3 modes) is actually quite impressive. It does look plain-er beside the 0D coz of the latter's more elaborate wings and extra little things near the intakes. But it's Roy's valk, so gotta have it.

At least now my 0D won't be lonely while waiting for the VF-0A. Can't wait.

And all this time, I thought Bandai just brought a couple of Arcadia's, scanned them, and then let the CAD specialists do the tweaks 🤣

A couple of more days until the preorder.  I don't think I plan on ordering any of them from any US stores unless I find one that I can use my rewards on to get it very cheap or free.

LOL.. Looking back, am not surprised if the HMR VF-4 is also done by T-Rex, seeing that they are just as much a shrunken version of Arcadia's.

I wonder how it takes them to design a HMR? A while back I came across the process of a Metel Build which is about 3 years from concept till retail.

3 years sounds rather long. No idea on HMR, but for the Chogokin we can take the Delta TV series timeline as example.  The series was announced in Oct 2014, prologue episode released in Dec 2015 & the DX VF-31J was out in Dec 2016. Assuming Kawamori already had the designs finalised when Delta was announced, then the DX took 2 years..
