Anyone wish Macross could try experimenting with music genres more often?

If I remember correctly, Macross did try experimenting with music genres in Plus (electronic), 7 (a rock band) and Zero (tribal), but does anyone wish they could try experimenting with different music genres more often?

Here's my personal bucket list of music genres that Macross could experiment with.

Classical orchestra.

Japanese enka (traditional music)

Scottish inspired music (bagpipes and all)

Sabaton inspired heavy metal...(for the antagonists)

Choir

Classical music doesn't typically lend itself to vocal performances... outside of choir or opera.

Macross's schtick is songs more than just music.

There was an enka singer in Frontier, and one of the character cover albums had his signature song covered by members of the main cast.

That said, traditional art forms are less popular... and Macross is generally aiming for popular music.

The Mardook in Macross II kind of have this one covered already... albeit it's more operatic wailing than a hymnal.

Long story short: Macross incorporates music that will sell the most.

The only one in the OP's list that is remotely likely to do that is choir.  However, the current trend for that (in Japan) are for ensemble groups like AKB48.  Unless they have the entire voice actor cast participating, I doubt any show would have the budget for that many singers.

I'd love an operatic fold/star singer, it would fit the aesthetic too, and they could play with Wagner references more (they already have one in a Walkure song), but I doubt it would sell well enough, so I doubt they would do it.

...just imagine, the original Protoculture shows up, their lead songstress doing full-on opera,

Didn't Ishtar kinda do that already in Macross 2?

We've kinda had that three times already... in Macross IIMacross Zero, and Macross Delta.

As above, we've kind of already had that too... Macross II's creators hint in-story and in interviews that the Mardook are the descendants of Protoculture refugees like the ones mentioned in DYRL?, who fled their civilization's fall to start over and lived a semi-nomadic life in space.

Honestly haven't seen MII and I really should, and should refresh Zero too.

As for Delta... that one song by Ketchup Boy does kinda qualify. I wish we heard a wider repertoire from him. Also, it basically makes the idea of "Protoculture is operatic, the pop part was added on Earth" canon? MII is very non-canon, but canon could have borrowed it.

EDIT: wait. If "Ai no oboeteimasuka" is canonically a Protoculture melody, then, with this information, it was operatic originally, but was adapted to a pop style to fit the only available singer with the right genetics. I want to hear the original! (Inworld original, of course; it would be a re-arrangement in real life).
