Yes, I continue to be in awe of your work! Please keep posting pictures of the painted final versions. I saw the Type III you showed the sketch of in your other thread, forward canards! Can’t wait to see that done up as well! Great work!

if you do end up selling these as complete kits, with everything you need, I know that you will get many orders from people here on this board! Keep up the excellent work!

There's another thread like this?! Where is it?

This is the moment where all the Macross mech-head groupies throw their panties onto the stage.

But for the love of all that's good and holy,  PLEASE don't make this a Wonderfest exclusive..

Wonderfest = (won't see the light of day in North America)

He has another thread dedicated to his Type III. It is in this same topic.

  • 3 weeks later...

A month ago you awaited price quotations from 3D printing suppliers.

Are you able to take orders from us now?

As an example, last week, several of us ordered an original printed model creation,  1/100 VF-1AG from forum member ChristopherB.  He made 10 finished and 10 unfinished kits, sold those with payment taken over PayPal.  Now he gets tally of the other types people want so he can produce more varieties.

Hoping to hear your good news!

Freaking awesome, can't wait to see it for sale and what the community does with it in terms of paint schemes.

Hi, @Knight26 . I'm curious about this, too. What paint schemes will the community apply?

Hi @djivaldi7  @rematron, I'm currently waiting for the metal parts. we are not able to accept any orders yet. I plan to make it into a half-assembled plastic model kit with a metal inner frame, parts, abs, and equivalent materials. Current 3D printed materials are not good enough. Major problems are weight and durability.

Cool, how did you paint your model to avoid any paint scratches?

Hi @F18LEGIOSS2 , I applied a layer of matt coating on it, but there are still a few areas where the paint is scratched between parts.

This project continues to astound me  every time you post more of it! How does it feel in hand to transform it?

Hi @DownIsUp, At the current stage, the whole thing is built using resin, which is not great at transforming it into 3 forms. It is too heavy for my preference, and I can't overtighten some parts. Rubber-type resin won't break easily but will stretch over time and deform.  I'm getting those parts printed in metal, which will properly solve the issue. For production, I will have to make it into plastic kits with metal inner frames and choose more durable materials for end-user products.

Your three designs are absolutely amazing! I am in envy of you and cannot wait to see what your mass production, retail kits will look like!  You are truly talented!

I just learned of your projects, ImChris5115, and I'll echo the sentiments of the other members: truly incredible and inspiring work. Of course, being a Macross fan on a Macross forum, the inevitable comparison to Kawamori-san's prolific variable fighter designs is both expected and offered as high praise for what you've accomplished with your Types 1, 2, and 3 designs. However, it needs to be said that your battroid styling is a departure from Kawamori's usual designs giving it a uniqueness visually, as well as a complexity and innovative quality that's as intriguing as it is brilliant. Looking forward to these and future projects. Please keep sharing your vision and talent with us.

Man, I love how it looks.

Not sure if I missed it or something but I'm curious to see if there's an animated 3D posted before that shows how it transforms. That would be cool. ;)

Hi @no3Ljm, That's a cool video you shared there. I'm sorry, man. I wish I had experience using 3D Max, Maya, or Blender to do 3D animation. I know how to create 3D designs using CAD software like NX, Solidworks, and AutoCAD. But I'm only able to create exploded views and parts animation. I totally have no skillset in VFX and animation shown in this video. I admire those talents who are able to create something like that.
