Bandai HG 1/100 YF-21 & VF-22

Picked up mine from the store yesterday. No time to open it yet though.

I got the yf-19 and Yf-21 kits. I've mainly done HG and MG Gundam models. Hoping these are as easy. 

I'm amazed that the painters in this forum are able to paint the striping on the valks. I can't keep my hand steady enough to paint the lines straight. How do you guys do it? Is there a template i can put over the valk that only exposes the stripes?

These kits are pretty easy out of the box. If you’re not into going all out with filling seams or paintwork, these are rather color separated and if you want to go a little further and not use stickers, there are waterslide sets to pretty much color everything properly. Just need to top coat over them and maybe use a simple panel line method and it should look pretty great. They snap up pretty similar to the average hg gundam kit, so if you’re used to those these aren’t much more complicated

Musta got the three I canceled . I realized when the Milia preorder didn't go through that I was on pace to have 12!!! kits of this single mold, and as much as I like the design, I don't 12 molds' worth of money like it!

(That said, now that I'm going through M7 and Max and Milia are my favorite characters in the entire cast, I may have shot myself in the foot there... Oh well. Gamlin's a fun guy, too.)

I figured the M&M variants were coming and I actually skipped the Gamlin version, so yeah, 9 of these for me. I do like Gamlin, but that would have put me at 12 as well. Plus Gamlin was a web exclusive. I’ve seen his restocked a couple times already, so if I change my mind one day, it won’t be too hard to get

Same here. Only the decals have entered my Private Warehouse.

No, wait, I stand corrected. I got 3 decal sets. I've ordered 3 more now, since I hope to have 3 Max and 3 Miria eventually...

But I wonder if they'll cancel my order since the other 3 decal sets are still in my private warehouse and the limit is 3 per person...

Cancelled my order and just said f 'it and ordered off of eBay.  Not sure what's going on with HLJ these days...but obviously they didn't order enough or Bandai did not produce/allocate enough of these kits to them.

Seems to be a trend with Bandai on producing very limited runs of kits.  Plamax seems to be doing this as well.  Some of their recent 1/72 Macross kits are already listed as "discontinued" on HLJ!

I'll have to try Mandarake at some point...never ordered anything from them before.
