Yeah, those were pretty bad. 4 hours ago, Seto Kaiba said: Blaming Kathleen Kennedy for all of Star Wars's issues is like blaming the CEO of McDonalds when your local McD's gets your order wrong. Yeah, the person responsible and the person you're blaming are in the same general organization... but they're almost completely uninvolved with each other on a day-to-day basis. Unfortunately this seems pretty true. I believe that no matter who was in charge, it would have still been a mess. Everything Disney has had their stamp on in recent years has also had their stink. KK wasn’t in charge of the Eternals or Secret Invasion or She Hulk. Disney, just knows how to ruin a franchise, no matter who takes charge. They can ruin Marvel or Indy or Star Wars or even their own stuff like Pinocchio. They just know how to make bad choices these days and every once in a while something does get through and ends up good, but they don’t seem to understand what makes that good movie or show and they pump out 💩 Quote

She's the studio president and CEO, FFS. It's not like she's in charge of development of new Star Wars stories herself. Even if she were, it's weird how fans only ever want to credit her with the stuff they don't like... as if fan-favorites like The Clone Wars seasons 5-7, Rogue One, Rebels, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and Andor weren't all made during her tenure too. The blame for Star Wars's struggles under Disney rests farther down the chain of command with promoted fans writing fanfic-tier material and the studio's self-defeating goal of trying to satisfy die-hard fans determined to hate anything it does and appeal to general audiences at the same time. 100% this Quote
azrael Posted February 27 Posted February 27 This is why posting a rumors/maybes/I-heard.../pre-trailer/etc on our forum may not be beneficial. The ‘Star Wars’ chief is staying on at Disney, despite a report that she’s leaving. At least for now (CNN) Quote

azrael Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Hell, it's been reported that Kevin Feige is going to, EVENTUALLY, step down from Marvel Studios for the last few years now. Has he told HR and the execs he's actually going to do it? No. Then it's not happening, YET. Quote
TangledThorns Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) Well well well. Looks like in a heavy Hollywood spin way Kathleen Kennedy is still leaving Lucasfilm but by her "choice", lol. Her choice or no choice, it reads like she'll continue destroying leading LucasFilm till end of this year. As a Star Wars fan I'm looking forward to 2026, if not sooner 😎 https://deadline.com/2025/02/kathleen-kennedy-clarifies-lucasfilm-exit-star-wars-future-1236304421/ Edited February 28 by TangledThorns Quote
davidwhangchoi Posted February 28 Posted February 28 She's playing with the word retiring because technically she will still be a producer but she's stepping down. She's always been business like. This is the: i'm not retiring, i'm not being pushed out" i'll take my time finding a successor interview. All the comments are: the neck beards nerds and chuds won. lol Quote

Considering she's 71 and has a whopping 44 years as a producer and 12 as President and CEO of Disney LucasFilm to her name... nobody'd blame her if she actually took a full retirement. It's a hell of a career. If she were being forced out, it'd be something like what happened to Carlos Tavares last December. No advance notice, no talk of choosing a successor, just "We've decided to part ways" and an immediate and unfilled vacancy. (Not that anyone will miss Carlos.) 25 minutes ago, davidwhangchoi said: All the comments are: the neck beards nerds and chuds won. lol Yeah, the brainrotted culture warriors aren't exactly ones for little things like perspective. kajnrig Posted February 28 Posted February 28 So she's not stepped down yet, just actively looking for a successor? That's also far better treatment than ex-Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger got last year, which was exactly also as Seto described, just a sudden "it was the honor of my lifetime to lead XYZ etc." announcement and a retirement package. Well, whatever it is, I'll be sure to check back when they announce a good reboot of The Acolyte. Dunno why that show in particular elicits such a response in me, but alas... Quote
