I'm all for them giving it a shot. Pretty much everything you can do in animation you can do in CG as well, and though I do like animated movies, I would prefer live action. I'll definitely give it a watch, and if I don't like it, there's still the go-to original.;)

I’m more hopeful on this than the live action Disney adaptation trash. Oddly some of the voice actors might not make bad cameos for the live action.

Live action would make so much more sense if they were going to change the tone and make it much darker... they won't do that because, if they were, they would be wiser to not associate it with the fun cartoons. I think all the live action remakes of animation are a very interesting study as film makers wrangle with how the medium impacts the story telling. My kids LOVE the Train Your Dragon story so I'm certian to be watching this.

I was kinda hoping they’d try to be a bit different than just acting out the cartoon.
I’d still watch this before most of those Disney live action remake messes

Have to say, I don't mind if they do it frame for frame. I want to watch How To Train Your Dragon in live-action, not a reboot. Plus, anyone who loves the animation will not be disappointed by sudden changes simply for the sake of changes.

I guess the thing for me is that it would just be the same movie again. I’d rather see something a bit different. Give the main kids accents to match the land they live in at least. The animated one was already cg, the cg here doesn’t look much different. Maybe take more elements from the book. There’s a lot they could do to make it something fresh without being blasphemous to the animated film.

I don't think the movie is one that needed a live-action remake already, but it is what it is. I'd have liked for them to go much more naturalistic on these dragon designs, and especially tone down the eyes on Toothless. Seriously, can you imagine how well it must be able to see with saucers that big?

Also, I think it would only have been fair if they brought back Gerard Butler that they also bring back Jay Baruchel as Hiccup. 40-year old man STILL looks like he's in the midst of puberty.

Anyway, happy to see the composer and director are also returning. The original has such an outstanding soundtrack, I still regularly listen to it on its own.

Kinda my feelings on this. It’s kinda unnecessary and too soon and yeah a little realism in the live action would have been more interesting

I’ll wait for the parody where they replace the dragons with ones that look like the House of the Dragon ones, both in terms of looks and levels of violence. 😅
