Anasazi37 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 This just showed up on the Tamashii Nations site: https://tamashiiweb.com/item/14337/?wovn=en For a second I thought it was the VF-0D, and got excited, then realized it was a non-canon VF-0S variant to celebrate World Wide Macross (WWM). Why does Bandai keep doing this??? Quote
DewPoint Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Because it is something from Max's personal collection? MILK the MOLD! pass for me... not a big Macross Zero fan and severely space limited. seriously have to pick and choose. Quote
Convectuoso Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I just posted more pics on the HMR thread Quote

Radioguy Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I don't mind if they go down the Yamato repaint road. I'd like some camo and low-vis stuff in HMR or DX. Quote
Bolt Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 It's a bit weird looking. But I actually might come out of hiatus and buy it..🤔 Quote

Shawn Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Hold on...just hold on Max was 95 or something in the last Frontier whatever WWM release right? Now he is in preschool for this release? Someone please work out the timeline. Or is it Max's Father's VF-0D... Or as stated above, Max is a vintage collector (we saw he had his own Cobra from the M3 game painted blue) and does valks as well soooooo weird these releases! LOL Quote

LOL I like the idea that "retired" Max collects Valkyries, like his own CAF. And, of course, he paints them all blue. Quote
Lolicon Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Pass. The WWM 25 and HMR 0S are two purchases I regret. Maybe if I see this one in the discount bin... Quote
jvmacross Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 In for one....missed opportunity for a CF release though...hopefully this WWM milk mold means that a Shin VF-0A is leaning towards highly likely.... Quote
Chronocidal Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I kind of.. don't mind it? But it reminds me a lot of the Messer-painted VF-1S release. Interesting scheme that absolutely does not fit the lines of the VF-0. Painting decorations that mimic natural panel line divisions on the VF-1 is.. weird. I would have just left the whole nose white instead of adding the dumb imitation VF-1 stripe, because it just looks silly having the hips above the nosecone, when the natural dividing line is in a more aesthetically pleasing spot anyhow. Bolt Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 The head is interesting. Has a little VF-25/ VF-0J(?) going on. It really needs reactive armor Quote

As a toy, forget everything else, I like it for a VF-0 variant. I'd even prefer green. Quote
Bolt Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Are we getting some Tenjin art with the box? I have expectations. Quote
Froy Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 What is Bandai up to? Even the Focker VF 0S seems not to be doing very well, Mandarake still have plenty of those. Quote
Radioguy Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Luna Park is quick. https://www.lunapark.store/product-page/hi-metal-r-vf-0s-phoenix-genius-blue-ver-japan-version FEB2023 for ¥1,000 off too. Quote
twich Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I really like this! It definitely gives the same Worldwide Macross vibe as the VF-25F they did. When is the preorder for this? Twich Quote

Mommar Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 A Max for every occasion. I'm just disappointed they haven't knocked out a VF-4 version of this scheme yet. Quote

jenius Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I don't mind it, and I'll buy one, but anything from the show would have been much more preferable. I'd be more excited about an Alaska base VF-1. Quote
seti88 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Cant shake the feeling that bandai has already plans to use this color blue, in the future, for the VF-0D. MILK THE PAINT! Quote
MKT Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 This really came out of the (Genius) blue! Not really feeling this, but I'll likely get one. Bandai just naming it 'Genius blue' is a stroke of genius by avoiding naming it 'Max' for WWM release lol. I wish Bandai adopts nice military schemes for non-canon schemes, like what Yamato did for their 1/48, instead of shoehorning other characters' colors in. Quote
Big s Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I kinda like it, but not sure if I’ll get one Quote
sh9000 Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Nice to see an official Macross release get exposure on Toyark. https://www.toyark.com/2023/02/22/tamashii-nations-15th-anniversary-world-tour-exclusives-494151#images Quote
jvmacross Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 Bandai should have switched the paint scheme between the VF-0S and Gundam Whatever Quote
Mommar Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 I'm a Max fiend so I'll get it but I think they could have picked a better scheme to match the VF-0. DYRL probably would have been a better option. Quote
twich Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 So correct me if I am wrong, but it looks like this will be on sale at the event, on the day they are there. So April 28th in NYC USA for $140. I hope that this doesn’t remain exclusive to the event only. Hopefully more details will follow. Twich Quote

I'll be there in person to (likely) buy one though. Quote
Bolt Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 As this a WWM release, I expect it to be widely available. I doubt it will be exclusive just to that event. That would be losing too much potential revenue. Quote

jvmacross Posted February 22, 2023 Posted February 22, 2023 So is this the first ever attempt at a simultaneous release across all of Bandai's global markets for a "Macross" item? Quote
