PSA @Shawn Just in case you come across a bootleg that carries a blue, dark grey, or white GU-11. It actually belongs to an oversized 1/100 that is in similar scale to a 1/72. Quote
jvmacross Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 LOL...been waiting for someone to do that for a long time...to a 1/55! Quote

jvmacross Posted January 3, 2023 Author Posted January 3, 2023 Been wanting a mega-sized original style 1/55 VF-1 PT for decades...had a little hope when the wave of super-sized Transformers started being released by 3P companies...but it never materialized...it seems original Macross 3P creations started and ended with the SD Makurosu....although the 3D print entrepreneurs are very active...but I have no time to build and paint....unfortunately Quote

It would be amazing if someone like Fanstoys would take a stab at the VF-1. After all most of the wanted characters have been done. Once FT s done some other 3P and supersize it with slight improvements. Quote
jvmacross Posted January 4, 2023 Author Posted January 4, 2023 I recall a long time ago, on a MW thread long forgotten....someone had started to work on one...guessing the project went nowhere...I think there were actually two guys taking a stab at it...one was doing it in wood and another using metal Quote

I don’t recall ever seeing pics of the VF-1. Do you have any to share? Quote
jvmacross Posted January 4, 2023 Author Posted January 4, 2023 Not sure...don't really follow anything related to Mospeada....but this would have been longer than the site currently goes back to...tried to search on thecweb...but came up empty Quote

Twich No. There was another member who was creating a large scale Legioss far larger than CA. I was wondering if this was the same creator. Quote
jvmacross Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 I want to say the guy doing the upscaled 1/55 was from Mexico....those old post are long gone...maybe I can check on Wayback Machine's internet archives for the post Quote
Shawn Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 I'm gonna say Mari signed as Minmei That M and the I at the end sure seem the same Quote
Bolt Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Wow, if so, that must be worth a pretty penny! Quote
Shawn Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 oh..there is a misunderstanding. Those boxes are all pre-signed-it is part of the artwork I threw out a theory that all the names on the sides were signed by their actual voice actors So Mari Iijima signed Minmei for the box art design I'm sticking to that story! Quote
Bolt Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 But is it a printed signature or a hand written sig..? Looks hand written. Wouldn't that make it worth more ? You mean they were ALL done that way, so it's not very rare ? Quote
Shawn Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 All pre-printed on the boxes. I just like the idea of their sigs on them all, gives it an extra sense of reality. And the face that they used some pre-prod looking Hikaru art, the 1/100 line is very unique. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 I wonder who did the signature for this pin. Quote

The boxes use the same art between both the 1/100 and 1/55...including the early lineart for Hikaru Quote
Shawn Posted January 7, 2023 Posted January 7, 2023 Yes...as soon as I wrote that and started looking through some old files, I immediately noticed my mistake Quote
