Shipping was $40. total weight of package was prob 1.5 lbs. Did you try to ask the size of the box in total? I checked USPS and assuming that they're using USPS, here are the example of cost from New York shipped to California using USPS price calculator. Their Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box - 12 1/4" (L) x 12" (W) x 6" (H) is $24.75 Using calculate price based on Shape and Size (1.5lbs) 16" (L) x 12" (W) x 10" (H) is $60.65 14" (L) x 8" (W) x 12" (H) is $18.05 I guess your box size is somewhere in the middle. I'm pretty sure the items are already cheap enough and accessible stateside at this point. Buy that outside the country, I'm pretty sure you're going to spend the same or more depends on the shipping cost. Follow what your heart desire. Just my 2 cents. Quote

I know you mentioned they don't combine shipping. Did you found out by messaging them? Or just thru the order/payment process? If not, maybe it's worth asking them directly prior of paying the item/s? Anyways, good luck on your purchase. Quote
djivaldi7 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 They combine shipping sort-of... backed my way into it for two of my transactions since last year by buying multiple items and then asking for a partial refund "after" payment. Took awhile but they finally came thtough. They aren't very public facing, as someone mentioned earlier. Not the most responsive, either... Didn't respond when I'd win all the auctions or had orbs on the cart, just after I'd paid... so whether they're super busy, or just a couple of "wise guys" (ba-dum-bump, tish!) Feels like they're doling it out slowly because there's never more than a handful listed at any one time, among their trains, planes, paints and other stuff for sale. Patience and persistent inquiry with these guys is key to getting value and fair dealing. No complaints on my end in delivered quality for several rare kits. Quote

We actually do combine shipping! USPS might just be charging more if you live somewhere like the West Coast or Canada. I'm not able to be on here more often do to the sheer volume of work I have most of the time but I do want to assure you I want to improve our relations by hearing about things like this! On another note- you can use our new website instead! -> -> -> https://wiseguyshobbies.com/ We have multiple options for shipping on the Wise Guys Site! Quote

djivaldi7 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 They're doling it out slowly on Ebay. Save your pennies and you'll be able to get some. Quote
pengbuzz Posted June 18 Posted June 18 Well, thanks to a few things gone right (for once), I was finally able to make a purchase from them! Quote
djivaldi7 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 So it was meant to be. They're going to eventually put even more on sale from the simple consequences of supply and demand vs. cashflow. Quote
djivaldi7 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 Hmm...anybody else been made unable to bid on Wiseguys' auctions? EBay told me I was put on their exclusions list but no reason why. I'd bought quite a bit. No returns or negative feedback. Not sure what it means... Quote

It could be an error on their part or something fouled up. Try asking them and see. Quote

Looked for one and couldn't find it. Try PM'ing Shawn here at MWF: he might have an idea on how to get ahold of them, as he's interviewed them. Quote

You could try buying directly from their website: https://wiseguyshobbies.com/collections or just create another eBay ID to buy from them. A quick Google search yielded a phone number but no clue on how accurate it is: https://www.bidsquare.com/auction-house/wise-guys-hobbies-llc/contact-us Quote
Shawn Posted August 31 Author Posted August 31 Perhaps ping @WiseGuyVic and see if he might know about the lock out? Quote
djivaldi7 Posted September 1 Posted September 1 Thx, but I did try Vic 2 weeks ago and yesterday. Still zilch. If I'd not paid or done frivolous complaints or returns I'd get it, but I made about 4 multi-lot Ebay purchases up through 2023 with no incident. The only strange thing I remember is once I asked for a combined shipping discount for multiple auction wins. Nothing happened for a few months, And then one day I got a refund notification for every single item I'd bought...fractional, like 10 - 25 cents each. Not sure why it happened that way. That was the last interaction I had with them until the next time I tried to buy-it-now and it wouldn't accept my cart. Ebay said I was blocked and had to ask WGH why... I've tried Ebay messages and emails occasionally since late 2023-ish, no response. My goal is to get re-instated. Quote
djivaldi7 Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Good news they acknowledged a problem on their end. I'm back in. They aren't sure why it happened, and apologized for the slow CS. Quote
