Really want to see a top view to see where the canards fall on this one, but looks good in the angle shown at least.

Also kind of surprised to see them remove the intake warnings, but I admit I prefer this scheme without them  The red they had before just clashed anyway.

Now to see if they paint the gear.. :p

I see some elements in look and approach sort of carried over from Bandai's YF-19, like the shoulder, upper arm, the way the nose cone is housed or how they avoid the ugly cutout around the upper leg/inner thigh. And just like the YF-19, deep elbow bend will be possible without implementing Yamato's/Arcadia's weak solution of shifting the bicep out of the way.

It does look like they skipped the origami involved in the YF-19's legs, and went back to a simple cutout for the arms.  Can't say I'm upset about that though.  As impressive as the mechanism was, it was probably the absolute peak of excessive complexity in any Bandai product I've seen, and actually annoyed me because it prevented extending the feet in fighter mode.

Probably a lot of metal in the feet.

So what you're saying is we need to order a new bottle of joint glue cuz Metal and metal ball joints have worked SOOO well for the last 14 years of macross toys since the Alto YF-29 😅

They went ham with the mouth lol. And the knee gap is real. It doesn't quite seem like the shoulder spots are real peg holes for the sound booster like the HMR.

I would like this for the way it bridges the gap between the YF and VF's differences, and the full stature it makes with the sound booster. But here I am, scraping up pennies to decide if I want to thow it at the 27 PO... lol

Think I'll wait this out and see if a Blazer comes around.

Edit: I should probably have posted to the other thread

It seems my misplaced reply and your reply to it got moved here.

I feel like I've seen an AMV recently where there was footage of the yapping mouth used as Basara's megaphone.

Maybe I'm in the minority with this one but I really don't dig the lanky long-legged proportions.  Looks like the old V1 Hi-Metal.

I wonder what the actual height will be. DX doesn’t mean 1/60.

Just like HMR does not mean 1/100.

let the entertainment begin.

I'll get a copy, but while it looks a different, I don't see anything that makes it clearly better than Yamato's version.

Let's see if Bandai actually gives us white landing gear like on the HMR. I'm willing to put money on them being unpainted diecast.

Knowing Bandai we'll probably get just the standing Basara figure and no sitting figure for the cockpit.

Under normal circumstances....this would become clearance fodder....with the current tariff nonsense....if Bandai is fearful of the "Made in China" ramifications....it's possible it may limit WWM availability to US customers  knowing that not too many US collectors would be willing to potentially be on the hook for a 245% tax on it upon arrival at US Customs.....Hopefully, the whole tariff situation gets resolved soon...

With that said, I'm good with my Original Yamato VF-19 Kai with Super Parts....plus I was able to grab the set of Fire Bomber 1/60 figs too a long while ago....more importantly....skinny-legged Macross 7 DX'S are an easy pass...everyone knows them legs need to be thicc....

The possible price issues might make this a no-sale, but I might still grab one or two, just because I love seeing all the different ways to approach the VF-19 design.  If I do wind up with one, it'll probably stay in fighter mode, since while the Yamato is good, the proportions and shape of the forward fuselage/LEX always bugged me.  I want to see if Bandai manages to improve it.

Either way, I'm much more interested in seeing this turned into a proper VF-19F/S/P/etc. anyway, especially with them finally adding some proper hardpoints to the design.  Would love to see some of the customs out of the Macross 30 game, or the Master File, but those will always just be a pipe dream.

going to pass on pre-ordering and wait, i don't think i'll be in a hurry for this one.

Probably not the best VF to test the mettle of most collectors during these economic times....

It could be worse though.....imagine it being the announcement of the DX Elintseeker.....still worth it with a 245% tax for US Collectors?

After looking at the images closely, I have concluded that only the top of the chest is the same mold. And maybe the forearms. I'm sure its safe to assume the sliding thruster spine is probably the same too, but that seems to be as far as common parts go, if you don't count the metal bits.

Suddenly... I want a very bizarre and specific crossover to happen.

I feel like Basara would be right at home in this series.

My headcanon has always been that the Fire Valkyrie is just Hot Rod from Transformers who happened to scan the YF-19 on his way to Earth and just silently sticks around with Basara because he enjoys his antics.

And the crazy thing is that Takara is somewhat entertaining this idea.

It's the perfect release really, it's made for the Japanese market. Very few people outside Japan are going to buy Mac7 merch.

With the exception for SDFM and DYRL....all Macross series are no longer "Japan Market" only....
