This nice little tidbit was mentioned in Right Stuf's weekly update e-mail:

***  Packaging Crisis  ***

If you've been looking for the Bubblegum Crisis DVD Set and individual

DVDs and

haven't found them, don't worry - they're not being discontinued. We

recieved word

from AnimEigo that due to an expired sublicense with M2K - AnimEigo

will be

redesigning the packaging and giving Bubblegum Crisis a newer, fresher

look. You

can expect to see its release sometime in mid 2004, we'll be sure to

update you

when this wonderful series is available for order once again!

Hopefully this includes a remaster. From the wording it kind of looks that way. New packaging and a fresher look.

We can hope at least.

About damn time. Hope AnimEigo gives BGC the same treatment as the Macross boxed set.

Pass.  Already have the boxset but it should be good for those who don't have it yet.

I'll be looking for these new ones. I was about to buy the current ones.

EDIT: Type me suck...

I have the old ones, so I'll happily snatch up the new ones when they come. I'll give the old ones to my brother or one of his friends.

I almost bought the pink box during the last Animeigo studio sale at Right Stuf, glad I skipped it now.

You and me both. I just hope they include the music videos as well....

I bought the original 3-disc M2K boxset (the blue software style box), then upgraded to the 4-disc pink boxset which you had to pay extra (can't remember the price?). But it was worth it, as I watch the Hurricane Live disc often when I need a quick BGC fix. :) If Animeigo remasters BGC like what they did with Macross and do another upgrade plan, I'd sign up.

Damnit.....yeah, I guess I'd buy a remastered set too. Especially if they got more of the extra's that were in the R2 box set (don't recall exactly what, but I know there were some additions), and used the original Japanese end credits.

As for my favorite thing, Hurricane Live, I've probably watch that more than the OVA's.
