TangledThorns Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 (edited) Like tears in rain... Sucks that this is the second RIP thread I created in a week. No more please. Vangelis, Oscar-Winning Composer for ‘Chariots of Fire,’ Dies at 79 https://variety.com/2022/music/news/vangelis-dead-chariots-of-fire-blade-runner-1235272061/ Edited May 19, 2022 by TangledThorns
technoblue Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Rest in peace. His album Voices was another favorite of mine to listen to as an undergraduate. That and the Blade Runner soundtrack got me hooked on his style.
Big s Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 I hated the movie, but loved that music. It was very iconic
M'Kyuun Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Vangelis was incredibly talented; I really enjoy his style of compositions, heavy with electronic instrumentation and atmosphere. He enriched the world with his music. RIP

Someone should do a RIP thread for politicians instead.
TangledThorns Posted May 20, 2022 Author Posted May 20, 2022 I have never seen Chariots of Fire. Guess I gotta check it out now.

electric indigo Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Playing the Blade Runner soundtrack while flipping through 70s SF artbooks takes me right back to the golden times. RIP, Vangelis - see you at Tannhauser Gate.
