anime52k8 Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 I generally have no interest in biopics, but I have a weird love for Baz Luhrmann films so. I'll wait and see. Quote
Big s Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Younger audiences might get confused about that captain marvel stuff. Older audiences will be confused by the modern music Quote
TangledThorns Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Another Elvis movie? Amazing what Hollywood thinks the audience wants to see these days. Quote
505thAirborne Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Was there no actor out there who "Looks" like Elvis that they could have been hired? Quote

He might've looked more convincing if they hadn't gone overboard with the guyliner... Tom Hanks is the bigger miscasting, though. Was there no actor out there who "sounds" like a Dutchman that they could have hired? 🙄 4 hours ago, Big s said: Older audiences will be confused by the modern music I was confused by the vintage music. Why use a cover of "Unchained Melody" for the trailer, as opposed to... any original Elvis hit single? 5 hours ago, anime52k8 said: I have a weird love for Baz Luhrmann films so. I'll wait and see. I love me some Baz as well, but this looks like a bigger misfire than Bohemian Rhapsody. Quote
Dynaman Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 The music was a bit off but I remember a country western signer biopic from the seventies/eighties that featured disco so it could be worse. The young Elvis look is a little off at times but the older Elvis look appears spot on. Quote

Dynaman Posted September 20, 2022 Posted September 20, 2022 Forgot about this thread. I saw part of the movie and turned it off, it should have been called "Tom Parker". Quote
electric indigo Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 It's worth watching for Austin Butler's performance alone, but due to the historical events, the second half drags like an overly long vacation in Las Vegas. Quote
