nightmareB4macross Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 Those are pretty cool and very cheap.3000Y for a set?!? Hopefully these sell well and they make other sets with more variations. Always liked these kits and their Chibi characteristics. IIRC, the heads on the VF-1A was modded by member here to fit on the 1/55 and it looks better than the TT/Bandai head. Quote
kajnrig Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 I've seen a few of these over the last few years and always assumed they were scratchbuilds or obscure resin kits. Are these from the same era/technology as the recent vintage 1:144/1:200 re-pops? Because phew, as glad as I am to have those kits, they have... problems. Quote
Shawn Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 Can't wait to see the new box art...I dug the originals! (below) Quote

derex3592 Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 Ok, normally I think the SD stuff is dumb and ridiculous, however, that SD VE-1 is gonna HAVE to be mine at some point to put beside the HM-R and Yamato 1:60! Quote
DewPoint Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 AmiAmi is sold out! HobbyLink Japan still shows available. Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted June 25, 2021 Posted June 25, 2021 I wonder if the reintroduction of these and their possible sales success could rekindle the love for SD figures and Bandai could possibly rerelease Joke Machines. Would be nice. Quote
505thAirborne Posted June 26, 2021 Posted June 26, 2021 I just PO'd both sets from HLJ. So nice to just easily pre-order something. Quote

Saw the news about the kits Thursday morning while eating breakfast, went to HLJ, and quickly placed the PO before heading into work. Nice change from the usual PO Madness. Quote
vladykins Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 I'm not a model guy, but I had to PO Set 1, even if it means I have to put them together terribly. Quote
hulagu Posted June 28, 2021 Posted June 28, 2021 Haha, they finally brought these back. Now do the SD-Q Raus from the original run too. Quote

Shawn Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 What an awesome detailed build up! Thanks for the link! Quote
Britai 7018 Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 I just got my payment notice for these guys. So excited. I have fond memories of picking up the originals at some fancy toy store in the Ginza District on a childhood trip to Japan back when I barely knew what Macross was - just that these guys looked like the Robotech ships. And agreed - that build up looks amazing. I'll be impressed if I can put on the stickers properly. Quote

They're actually quite nice little kits, I've built some. Pretty detailed given the size, styling, and transformation. Look very nice with some basic paintwork. Quote

Sanity is Optional Posted November 21, 2022 Posted November 21, 2022 Here's one. Just stickers, panel lines, and a few small paint apps. Next time I'd probably paint the whole visor, though the sticker doesn't look too bad. Quote
