It might not be a great movie or even a good one(*) but I think the biggest problem for the Marvel movies is brand fatigue AND the switching out of the cast at the exact same time.

(*) - I'm not the person who can judge these things, I only saw a bit of the movie where all the good guys were fighting each other and I couldn't even make it through that movie, on the other hand the D+ show with the current Captain America I thought was pretty good.

Thing is, if the pudding smells rancid, tasting it to make sure, let alone swallowing it, is not a smart move...;)

I don’t think it was a brand fatigue as much as a lower level of quality in the franchise. The writers don’t really know what to do anymore. If they stopped with the low quality movies, people would be more excited.

And when the Alien Romulus trailer hit, it was a beautiful looking and lovely aromatic apple pie – people were singing praise, spreading the good word and doing jovial dances for this delicious food. Then they all went out of their way to taste a piece... and came back with food poisoning. 😉

There is an old Klingon proverb for all of this: Only a P'Takh judges a warriors strength by the Bat'leth they carry on their back!

If we're quoting Star Trek, I'll paraphrase the 109th Rule of Acquisition:  "Inane Klingon insults and an empty sack are worth the sack."

It’s not a great movie, but I didn’t get the food poisoning from it. I might even give it a rewatch one day. But I definitely had a bad reaction with most of the recent Disney Marvel stuff like the Marvels and Black Panther 2 or the Eternals, or Secret invasion and She Hulk 🤮. Other ones I didn’t like, I’d never go for a second watch like Agatha all Along or the multiverse of madness or the third ant man movie. I didn’t like those, but wasn’t totally sickened by them.

And while I didn’t hate  Ms marvel or Wandavision, I still probably wouldn’t watch them ever again and would probably watch Romulus a second time long before I’d consider giving those another chance.

Special Look.

With all the recent talk of how bad Kraven is the last couple days, it forgot this hasn’t come out yet. I guess we gotta wait til February to see if it’s a bomb as well or if it miraculously soars high

It's funny, the first thing i noticed is the "bad guy" with an AK. Because, you know, that's what bad guys use.

It’s like being a kid again. 80’s movies and shows often, but not always had the bad guys or mercs with an AK and the good guys with the M16’s

Is it finally coming out? There seems to be so little talk about this one anymore that all excitement or basic interest seems to have been lost months ago

Oof. Was planning on seeing it for Valentine's Day date night but think we'll just wait till it comes to streaming instead.

As for the "don't trust critics" response I get it but I'm not risking to spend $40 to $50 to watch a single movie that may suck.

I'll go see it on an IMAX screen  during an AMC $5 Tuesday show...

Yeah, I get the don’t trust the critics, but it’s kinda tough when even the easy going ones aren’t impressed.

My daughter went with her fiance yesterday and said it’s not a perfect movie, but they had fun anyway and liked it. I may check it out, but probably will still wait for D+. They sent me a picture of the popcorn bucket and at least it’s not pervy8134435697684069321.jpeg.1eeb034304ac0abfda5e9afba49d7482.jpega little weird that its like your eating his brains

Saw it yesterday, did "dinner and a movie" (where they serve you at your seat)----I liked it.  I think the B/B- rating is about right.  Is it great?  No, but nothing's as good as Captain America: Winter Soldier.  And it's 10x better than true junk like Eternals or Quantumania or The Marvels.  People are acting like this is bottom-tier MCU, and it's not at all.  It's a solid movie IMHO.  Just not, 'amazing'.

I’ve been hearing that as well. Basically not as good as the greats, but far better than the majority of the films , especially the recent ones.
I didn’t think as many people would check this one out, but family, friends and coworkers have gone out and watched it. I guess not much to do on the long weekend or something. Most of them really had fun with it, although there were a few that I talked to that weren’t too impressed but no one that hated it yet so far out of the people I know.
