vsim Posted April 11, 2021 Posted April 11, 2021 (edited) I saw that we have a decal library, so I figured I'd start a box art library thread. Someone let me know if I missed one that already exists. I'm in the process of scanning my kits/decals/instructions so if anyone needs higher res images that have been color calibrated let me know. I also have scans of the side of the boxes. I'm only going at a rate of about 1 scan per week at the moment, so...this could take a while, :D. If you spot any errors, let me know, the process for merging scans is not perfect and although I try to look for artifacts and fix them I don't always see them. (For anyone who doesn't have the link ,it's Scalemates, scale modeling database | stash manager). Maybe at some point I'll figure out how to add to the info on Scalemates (e.g. box sides, instructions, etc.). I'm scanning everything for more of a preservation aspect. Scanner is calibrated to correct colors and I've got these at high res (including decals sheets at 2400 dpi). I started off with just decals but decided I might as well scan boxes, instructions, etc. while I'm at it because I apparently like having no free time :). If anyone needs a higher res version, just shoot me a message. Edited May 15, 2021 by vsim Quote

AN/ALQ128 Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Tenjin and company has really been knocking it out the park with these Delta kit boxes, I really enjoy the glossy sheen on the more ornamental schemes. Quote
pengbuzz Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Here are some I have; please forgive the condition of the boxes, as I have moved 3-4 times in the past decade and I'm lucky to have them at all! Quote
vsim Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 I've made some improvements to my scripts. Stitched images will hopefully not appear skewed anymore. It was a subtle issue but still drove me crazy enough to want to fix it. Hasegawa 65850 - 1/72 VF-31F Siegfried Kaname Buccaneer Color Macross Delta the Movie Quote

Gabe Q Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 That Black Aces kit box top is getting cut out and framed on day one! I like the 72nd scale picture better but this one will be big enough to have a nice presence on the wall. Tenjin did a great job once again! Quote
lochness Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 Hey All, Does anyone know where I may find hi-res scans of the Arii and Imai box art? I have some of the models but they have text and extras on them, I’d prefer the clean versions if possible. I’d like to use them to make myself some desktop wallpaper. Thanks. Quote
Shawn Posted November 22, 2021 Posted November 22, 2021 Now that is even more impressive work Tenjin!!!!!! DAMN. That needs to be a poster from Hasegawa. BW even changed their logo-hadn't noticed Funny thought-if you are left handed, do you pilot left handed so you'd also hold the gun on your battroid as a lefty? 😛 Quote

So maybe even lefties get trained right. That and I think a lot of the controls are set by computer memory for complex arm and leg movements, so it may be more point and shoot with an on screen reticle, at least with the old school tv suits. The movie and later series have thicker arms and legs on the pilot suits which seem to allow for more personal control between the pilot and machine. either that or they listened to the stereotypes set by the first Star Wars movie and felt that a left handed military might not be able to hit their targets Quote
TMBounty_Hunter Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Ended up using scans of two slightly busted boxes to cobble together clean pic. Hopefully I can get my hands on the Fire and Blazer valks eventually too. Quote
