The SDFM Kakizaki fan thread (TV only)

SDFM Kakizaki doesn't get enough love in toys.  In fact, I don't even know of any at all.  So I thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else has given him some recognition, kit bashed, modified, or otherwise created their own toys and make a place to show that off and show our love for a lost but never forgotten fighter pilot and fellow extra-large steak lover!  (I'd have scarfed that thing down before running off to battle... or taken it with me! )

First, does anyone have any good artwork or stills of Kaki's final valk?

Also, I brought this up after seeing this post by @sh9000 on the HMR thread showing a custom painted CF with brown GBP and wondered if that was meant to be a Kakizaki or just a CF GBP?  Because, although it's probably just the lighting, the upper arms, shoulders, and other white parts visible beneath the armor look brilliant white like the bits on the armor and other valks instead of the dull, off white/beige of the CF HMR toy.  If it's a Kaki, can we see your mods?  I'm considering the best way to approach the same on my HMR CF.

@Pontus mine is a regular CF VF-1A with custom painted armor.

I am not sure but, are you saying you are not aware of any SDFM TV VF-1A Kakizaki specific toys?  If so, there has been a few....the main ones have been from Yamato....

I think we are all waiting for the possibility of a Bandai DX VF-1A TV Kakizaki announcement.....and there still may be a "fool's hope" left for an HMR version at some point....

Yamato released his tv valk in 1/48 scale and a 1/60 V2 but never rereleased as far as I know. Wish I knew how to link pictures...

@jvmacross Thanks for those.  I didn't realize Yamato actually released one.  Those pics clear some color questions up for me, although the tan seems too light in those pics.  I forgot about the Toynami version, probably because I never seriously considered buying it (they were such crap). 

I know there's also a couple of really awful looking figures of him.  It would be nice if Kitz would release a figure of him with the XL steak of course, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah....the Yamato shade of "brown" was too light IMO...the 1/48 being better of the two....sadly, I think Toynami made better color choices for his valk....

I do hope KC will release Hayao at some point, they have already released the "Hikaru"...and the Roy should come out soon with a Max already teased.....it would be another slap in poor Kakizaki's face for them not to make a figure of him.....but not holding my breath...but perhaps it could work as a "made to order" exclusive or packed with another figure, perhaps an exclusive "Uniform" Hikaru (with some special accessory only available with the 2-pack set) that you could only get if buying the Pilot Kakizaki?

I totally agree, and I regret not jumping on the DX Kakizaki.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if KC made a figure of him and the recent Minmei figure I just got came with a bowl of noodles, tray and even chopsticks (2 tiny separate sticks even). They are very good about packing in accessories. Only thing is my guess is Milia would come before him which is fine with me.

i would be very surprised if bandai doesn't eventually get to his TV valk in the DX line.  They've given us 2/3 of vermillion.  would be wrong not to!  not that i bought the max 1a (should have)....they already gave us his DYRL scheme so i think this....he is popular enough he got a dx release in dyrl scheme.  he is needed to complete a dx vermillion squadron set.  i'm gonna say they will get to it within a couple years max.

Nothing should surprise us about Bandai's marketing and production decisions anymore.....they released a Destroid Monster, Spartan and Defender....but have opted for the last several years not to "complete" the Destroid set with the Tomahawk and Phalanx......so having an "almost" complete set of anything seems to mean pretty much nothing to Bandai.....

Oh yeah...forgot about him and the rest of the KC SD VF-1's....KC will probably also give us a 1/72 version...along with the TV Max VF-1A....
