Did they change the title on this one?

I could have sworn the preview from before was something like red or big red or something

Yep, it was known as "The Red".

As for Hicks, I don't what's scarier: a xenomorph or a psychotic zombie kangaroo.

I knew it had red in there somewhere. Australia has a few of these films recently with a killer Kangaroo in one or two, a couple movies about the great Emu war and a few about their infamous Drop Bears recently

We decided to give CIVIL WAR a try since it was on HBO Saturday night, overall, it's a lack luster film with very little to say (a few good scenes, but overall, I wouldn't watch it again). While from what I've read the director purposely gives no backstory on how or why the war started, details of how or why CA & TX are on the same side, why the US dollar is worthless, but the Canadian dollar is superior... If this was specifically mentioned in the movie, I missed it.

Those tidbits of info with a dose of narration would have made this a far better film. While war correspondents don't carry weapons, given how crazy America is at that point, being armed would have made sense. The talents of Wagner Moura were wasted and that bummed me out, he was superb and allowed to shine in NARCOS but reduced to amateur dialog in this movie. One last gripe is the music/soundtrack... it's very distracting.

My favorite moment in the film of "we see this now BUT never again" is Kristen Dunst telling the new girl, get a Kevlar helmet & body armor... you'll never see that helmet again, especially at the end when you would truly need it.

So yeah, skip this one and give "Rebel Ridge" on NETFLIX a try, by far better or "Fight Night, The Million Dollar Heist" on Peacock. (Peacock is $5.00 a month)

It’s all about the maple. Their dollar is printed on paper made from the purest of maple trees. They have so much maple power that you can flavor your pancakes with them by just waving their dollar over a stack. It’s also a good way of testing counterfeit bills. Store owners in Canada always keep pancakes and waffles on hand to test the legitimacy of the bills

Yeah, I got no interest in seeing it, regardless.

Just finished CIVIL WAR. I think people were expecting a true war film but that's not what it is. Even though it had some tense action there is some deep underlying art in the film. Basically the film is a snapshot or photograph of what a modern USA civil war could look like but with no explanation, narration or "world building."

Overall I thought CIVIL WAR was a good film and better than all the crap fan service sequels I've seen this year.

Red One trailer 2

There was a time, not that long ago, when this was a joke from MST3K  "Well, no, it's just that I've never heard of an action sequence in a Christmas carol before."

Clint Eastwood is still directing...

All he’s gotta do to end the movie is to vote not guilty and problem solved. If they didn’t have evidence to arrest him before, they sure don’t now.

Took the family to see THE WILD ROBOT. Good movie and great soundtrack that added to the feel of the film with some teary moments for my wife and daughter.

Best piece of movie music I've heard all year too!

Official trailer. This looks really good and is based on an actual serial killer named Rodney Alcala.

Big fan of Anna Kendrick.

Just watched the new version of Salems Lot. It’s an almost good movie. There’s nothing wrong with acting or sound and the concept is solid and nothing is really annoying. The problem is that it has this weird feeling of a bunch of scenes were chopped for time and things are extremely rushed at moments. It seems like they were gonna do a limited series and someone decided to trim it down to a movie and left a lot of things on the chopping block that would’ve made the movie flow better.

Finally got to watch Oppenheimer.  Interesting how Nolan framed the narrative.

Definitely made me want to learn more about what actually happened, just to see what was artistic license versus historically accurate.

One amusing personal bit:  right before the big Trinity payoff, of course the stream decides to conk out on me! 😅. Stupid internet connection!
