mantisfists Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 That would go great with a hover tank. Quote

mantisfists Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 Ha!! Not what I meant, but I'd take it. I'd have to figure out a way to make it functional so I could drive it down Hwy 17. That would be amazing. Quote

GabrielV Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 I'm not a fan of Dana or any of the Southern Cross stuff. But that does look pretty sweet. Just giving the armor that chrome finish adds exponentially, IMO. Quote

Just slap those numbers down without a care in the world? It's so very tempting, but I really need to count my pesos for the moment. Stupid pandemic. Quote
no3Ljm Posted December 14, 2020 Author Posted December 14, 2020 So it looks like it's not an 'action figure' anymore from the way they reported this initially. It's now a resin polystone statue that is limited to 500 pieces. https://www.taghobby.com/archives/502064 Quote
jenius Posted December 14, 2020 Posted December 14, 2020 I thought they were always doing a statue and kitzconcept was doing the action figure. Having handled the Kid's Logic Hikaru action figure... I think it's smart if then to go with a statue. Quote

So when they announced this back in October, I thought it falls in their 1/6 action figure category like Hikaru's. Quote
Podtastic Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 Dana Pre-order placed. Price wasnt as steep as expected, under 4,500. Of course shipping and customs will add a few more thousands. Had to leave a note as always about avoiding the post office and providing tracking. You'd be amazed how many think they can just ship to Africa without any tracking, and then are actually suprised when the item is never received. Quote
Podtastic Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 You cant pre-order the paintress though. Quote

Podtastic Posted June 2, 2021 Posted June 2, 2021 Nah, even if I was into battroids I wouldn't get this. I know it's meant to be dynamic but my eyes just see a chaotic delapidated jumble. Quote
Stampeed Valkyrie Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 Has there been any word on the smaller 1/12 cockpit releases? Been a little while since they asked for payment, I figured it would have released by now. Quote

I don't think they post any updates on their social media accounts as well. Their posts I believe is more of what's coming next. Quote
Big s Posted June 4, 2021 Posted June 4, 2021 The chest armor break is off to me. It looks like he went stupid and put it on backwards and then it popped off Quote

It would've been nice if the chest armor kinds of popping out from the upper chest first and not have it sideways like that. Quote
derex3592 Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I dunno...honestly I think that's pretty effin cool looking myself. Quote
no3Ljm Posted March 8, 2022 Author Posted March 8, 2022 The chest armor still feels weird. If it's going to rotate like that after it detaches, it's already away from the Battroid... I mean, Battloid. It's the only part of the armor in that statue design that doesn't make sense. Quote
jenius Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 I don't buy statues but I think this is one of only a couple Macross mecha statues I think looks cool... maybe the SDF-1 beast they made as well. Quote

I knew there was something bugging me about it. Yes, the chest piece either needs to be flipped around 180degrees, or moved the right side of the Battroids chest, even then, there is still too much contact, but it could be deemed acceptable due to the statue format. jenius Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 C'mon guys, we're talking about explosive bolts in space plus the limitations of the medium. Imagine everything is spinning and maybe colliding. Quote
Stampeed Valkyrie Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 Meh, I'm not sold on it, but its not bad looking either. I am still waiting on the 1/12 fokker cockpit to be released. I wouldn't pre-order anything else until they play catch up. Quote

JB0 Posted March 9, 2022 Posted March 9, 2022 Just now, Big s said: So it exploded at him? That’s a weird design Explosive bolts are actually very common in real spacecraft(probably real fighter jets too, though I'm far less familiar). When you need something to separate decisively and immediately, a strong kick is incredibly useful. Especially in space, where gravity isn't going to help out. Without explosives, the separated part drifts along forever at basically the same speed and direction it was moving before separation. Which is to say, it doesn't separate until the thing detached maneuvers away. This is bad if, for instance, you're ejecting heavily-damaged armor that is impeding your fighting robot's operation in active combat. Quote
Big s Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 I meant that the explosive bolts blasted the armor towards him instead of away Quote
JB0 Posted March 10, 2022 Posted March 10, 2022 Oh. It is a really weird position, and I'm not rightly sure how it gets there. I don't really see any way to go from "mounted parallel to the chest" to "perpindicular to the chest and touching right in the center". Quote
