A "big" reference to the animated series, too... ^_^

...and I particularly appreciated Boimler's use of "insurrect" as a verb. 😄

Yeah I’ll admit I didn’t know what the “Big Thing” was but Trek Yards explained it. Figured it was a reference from TAS.

Also Eaglemoss just announced an XL S1 Cerritos followed by an XL Lower Decks Titan coming in early 2022.

At that price, they better add some lense flare and make every panel removeable! 😁

And include working LED's & sounds with a cleverly hidden battery panel or USB port. Also a remote for said lights & sounds.

For 80 bucks that thing better have working shields and an ejectable warp core that can blow open a door.

Does Eaglemoss use any clear parts for the lighted parts of the nacelles anymore or is it all just painted these days?

Considering how terribly cheap their clear plastic inserts tend to look, I can't say I wouldn't prefer them all painted on.

Looking forward to its return. This and SNW have been real delights for me.

I'm just looking forward to whatever obscure references they'll dig up.

Wouldn’t you want to circle around DS9 and see it from every conceivable angle? :D

So... I finally got around to watching Lower Decks season two today.

To be honest, I feel like I'm missing something here.  I'm watching this, but I'm not being entertained by it.  The sheer density of the in-jokes and references to past Star Trek shows in Lower Decks is impressive in an abstract sense, but it feels like that's all it has to offer most of the time.

How I saw it: we have had some Star Trek episodes that were humorous, but as a whole the series was quite serious.

Lower Decks reverses that, and puts the notion that the Star Trek Federation universe is nigh-perfect and everyone has a place in it, on its ear.

Plus Miles O’Brien has a statue and is acknowledged as the single most important person in Starfleet. Job’s done.

That's basically what I mean... an endless stream of references is not humor, even if it's "hey remember this dumb thing from way back when?".

Mariner's still a prat in season two too...
