pengbuzz Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) From FoxNews: Quote Michael Lonsdale, the French actor known for his role as the villain Hugo Drax in the James Bond film "Moonraker," has died. His agent confirmed he died on Monday at age 89. Lonsdale also worked as a theater actor in France with his acting career spanning more than 60 years. From his role as the villain in the 1979 James Bond film “Moonraker” to that of a French monk in Algeria in the 2011 movie “Of Gods and Men,” Lonsdale acted, often in brilliant second roles, under top directors including Orson Welles, Steven Spielberg, Francois Truffaut, and Louis Malle. F-ZeroOne Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) "Moonraker" is one of my favourite Bond movies. And yes, I know that its got issues. I don't care. Farewell, Mr. Drax. Edited September 22, 2020 by F-ZeroOne Quote
TehPW Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I suppose he finally did take a step out for mankind. He was a euro actor, Quiaff? I don't recall him in anything else (CONUS wise) but i assume he was active in European entertainment circles? Quote
electric indigo Posted September 22, 2020 Posted September 22, 2020 I was surprised when I checked IMDB and found a very long list of movies he's starred in, and some that I like very much, most notably Alejandro Amenábar's Agora, Spielberg's Munich, and Milos Forman's Goya's Ghosts. Quote
