Thom Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Dang that ARMD looks nice! Cool work on the PE as well. Don't want to get stabbed with that! Quote
Photogirl Posted September 5, 2020 Author Posted September 5, 2020 i never really noticed before that the bridge of the DYRL Macross is smaller than the TV version. So, if humans are the same scale, that would mean that the DYRL ship is just larger than the TV Version? Quote

So, if humans are the same scale, that would mean that the DYRL ship is just larger than the TV Version? The two versions were the same size in terms of overall length. The DYRL version was just more compact. The decks didn't seem to extend as far back as the TV version and there were fewer stations, at least on the command deck. Those PE parts added to it look great and adds a good bit more detail! Quote

The bendy foldy bits are a nerve killer. even touching them they fell apart. i'm sure when its painted, you'll see some glue goop i had to put in to hold them together. I invested in a new, better hobby light. a magnifying ring lamp with daylight bulbs thats been making things possible. ITS FUN THOUGH. I love building things. I've pretty much put 3 other car kits on the back burner. I had a $25 Ebay gift for 25 years of membership, so i got another Etch kit for my TV series kit. Now I don't have to mix and match, and I can detail them BOTH up. I had trouble with the plastic ones, nevermind PE. Quote
Photogirl Posted September 12, 2020 Author Posted September 12, 2020 Finished. Huzzah. going to get it in the studio for detail shots. Quote
MechTech Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 That looks great! Yeah, bring on more photos. - MT Quote

arbit Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Great job! It looks real nice. I like the little color variations in some of the areas, not all gray. And some nice little painted details. Quote
MechTech Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Great finish and photos! Like everyone else said, perfect balance of both color and weathering. - MT Quote

MechTech Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 He he, school portraits! Model photography is tough anyhow focusing on something so small and losing depth. - MT Quote

No, but I've done it with the smaller Arii 1/5000 model. I'd love the opportunity to attempt it with the Hasegawa version; I'm thinking the best one to try is modifying the storm attacker more, as the booms are already separated. Quote
Dax415 Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Great Build, not sure if I would have the patience needed to do all that to a model kit and build it in a decent length of time. Quote
