it won't receive approval from Harmony Gold and/or Big West, and will simply remain among the dozens of other unproduced MEP figures

Which figures are you referring to? The only ones that I can think of (probably because I haven't been paying attention) were the Regent, Regess, and the Hellcat, which I remember seeing 3d printed prototypes of but seem to have disappeared since then (or maybe I'm not looking hard enough).

I was actually hoping to pick up the New Gen/MOSPEADA stuff, and the Sentinels will always have a place with me just because of how much I enjoyed the books when I was a kid.

Apart from the five Invid figures already mentioned, MEP has also publicly displayed prototypes for:

Others have been mentioned on Facebook, but I don't count 'em until physical prototypes have been confirmed...

...but yeah, you're not looking hard enough. :p

Not maybe, definitely.

For the pilot to fit Zentraedi mecha would have to be - as PC's Glaug pilot figure demonstrated in 3d - much larger.

That Spartas looks pretty sick, I hope it gets off the ground unlike the MAAS Toys one (and it seems like it'll be at least a little bit lower-priced too)

That's right, I remember those last three. I missed those figures, though.

I'm going to tell myself that I didn't MISS them, I just didn't care enough to notice... (because, you know, niche collecting over here)

Ok preordered another 10 "oversize" Gurabs.

I'm justifying this by the fact that I need my Zentraedi to be heavily outnumbered, but this is my limit.

Come on rest of the fandom:D

@jenius noted in his review that they look like they have attachment points on the leg for a tread, along with the display arm for fighter mode looking like a tread connection. But nobody has seen any prototypes and such yet. I'll be happy just to get an indication of PO for the Houquet ride armor soon.

I'm in for a few each of the 1/48 scale MEP Toys figures.  The larger one is just too small for what I'd want it for, which would be for the Sentinel ride armors.  If they upscaled it a bit to scale with those, I'd be in for a few of that one as well.

Well its not going to happen if they cant even get 200 orders to justify the 167mm.

The 176mm typo size (closest to 190mm) would have suited me better than 167mm (too small) or 209mm (too large), but I could use either in a pinch. The 1/48 is pretty much a useless size for a toy, its way too small a toy to pit against even the Revoltech Regults.

I disagree with this completely.  The Gurabs weren't that big.  Size charts confirm it.

I love scale accuracy and having them like that reminds me how small they were.  It's why I like the Sentinel toy size.  It confirms to me just how tiny an aircraft the Legioss was in comparison to Yamato or Bandai's 1/48 VF-1s.  There are larger Inbit mecha.....it's just not the Gurab or scout for that matter.  I think it would, however, be cool to have a Gurab or scout at a scale that goes with the Sentinel or Beagle ride armors.

I realize the size makes the Gurab underwhelming on their own.  But their danger was never as individuals but more in swarms, hence getting more than a few. It also makes the poseable figures and bikes included with the Sentinel Legioss all the more viable now that they'd have enemies to pose with.

Just my opinion, anyway.

Hello @mantifists

You arent disagreeing with anything really.

I know the official canon scales and I reject them in favour of my own which have absolutely nothing (mostly) to do with anything but my own desires.

My preferred scale (please nobody have a canon-attack) would be something roughly like this. Human marine in middle.

1603176461_SizeRelations3.thumb.jpg.0d9663c7cd470c88ec3c57a8756a1d42.jpg

The OS Invid Project was probably the closest I would have gotten to a toy at least close to this scale.

I get what you're saying.  I think what I disagreed with was you saying that 1/48 scale was a useless size for this toy when what you meant was 1/48 was a useless scale for you.

For what it's worth, I do hope they make the larger version as more options are always better.

Personally, for me though, it doesn't make sense to shell out for a scale that's in between the two scales I'd like, even if it meant getting the larger scale built.  That would essentially double the cost for the larger scale I really want.

The B2Five's are these (and look infinitely better):

Not to mention the R word but apparently toynami is releasing theses statesides R branded.  BBTS just sent me an e-mail about new cyclones from toynami and i think they are these guys rebranded.  https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/169667

did these guys ever get a mospeada branded release?

This is the first time we're going to see this in color. I don't remember B2Five put those Mospeada figures on PO on their website prior of this BBTS post.

At 1/28 scale, 2.5in figures, this sample photos looks cool. :good:

I POed them. Considered POing two each for the modes, but may wait to see if B2.FIVE put up theirs too (if I don't have to buy Toynami-labeled crap twice, I'd prefer that).

Hahaha! Don't worry. I didn't PO. Too small for me and I'm already happy with my 2 Beagle's and the recent Sentinel Ride Armors. ;)

I actually think these look cool. I’m surprised that they came up stateside first, I thought for sure they’d be in Japan and get rebranded a couple months down the line

Posted

Wow. Without being mean too much.. the math.. nope. $55 plus shipping. 2.5 in tall? And (R) branding? Nah.  I bought a 2 sentinel legioss, and all but 1 dx chogokin valkyrie.  But. At some point the part of my mind that yells “Stoopid!” At the other part of my mind that says “shiny collectible” .. that yelling part sometimes WINS.

Maybe they will be perfect transformable. Maybe they will be amazing. But that is way tinier than those way simpler Gakken ones we still managed to break. That many Joints that size and …time.. are enemies. Your mileage may vary

Posted

Simplified MegaHouse Ride Armors in a smaller size? These promise very limited articulation with the possibility of a very fidgety experience... yeah but I'll get 'em.

Posted

I do think the transformation is a simplified one. Maybe part swapping. There are a lot of pegs and maybe things just pop into place or do a simple fold. Honestly it’s hard to tell from the pics
