It's a fantasy flying brick booster/bomber that transforms into a bruiser robot... making sense has never been a going concern, with any of this genre that MW is dedicated to.

What doesn't make sense at all is the Tread being able to fly in atmosphere at all. It should've been space flight only. 

It was jettisoned in the first episode upon atmosphere entry.  (ala a valk with super parts.) The show lost me when it flew within gravity.

Honestly, I was pretty young when I first saw it and flying boxy things were on every show back in the early 80’s so it’s not something I thought about until many years later. Al least it looks more air worthy than the flag designs from Gundam OO

Yes yes, but once you accept that the Mospeada universe works the way they show you (with flying brick tanks and everything else), the Tread has great guns on it's arms that already work great...holding a rotary gun that looks like it has a magazine capacity to support <1 second of firing, even I can't get what's going on, my mind can't help but go back to "but why?"
It feels like Wolverine holding a knife.
If it's just "looks cool, don't think about it any more than that," that's fine.
Maybe adding a belt that would attach to the underside of the chest to imply a much larger capacity would be cool.
Ooh, or perhaps a mod to delete the forearm gun barrels and have a belt that can attach to the arms, implying the space has been replaced with ammunition for the hand-held gun.  Those would be more involved but would be pretty cool.

i really liked the first few episodes and loved the design of the bikes. the Tread was nice, looked like a booster and the whole plot of being from Mars Base made sense since gravity is different.  I loved the show, the only other inconsistency aside from the Tread was Scott/Stick swimming in the first episodes then magically he doesn't know how to swim in the later episodes bothered me. Other than that, i must've watch this a hundreds of times.

Sufficient thrust will overcome all aerodynamics.  The Tread has some pretty massive engines.

And either Jim’s truck is hella fast, or the Legiosses and Tread don’t need to fly fast to stay airborne.

If the SDF-1 can fly around in the atmosphere in attack more, then a Tread could. I'm not a huge fan of the Tread though. It's basically a giant backpack attachment to the Legioss. I feel like they could of done a lot more in terms of combining. It would of been sick if the Tread acted like a ride armor for the Legioss where it combines to make an armored Legioss.

You've got it backwards.  The Legioss is the expendable parasite fighter for the critical Tread combat vehicle!
I've always liked the Tread more than the Legioss and already sold my Legioss to help fund this purchase.

He will stand alone, he is no accessory, he is the main event.

I only started getting interested in the Tread after Riobot made it. And oh boy, what a piece of art compared to Toynami's Tread !

It is the perfect transformation toy except for the cockpit.

The cockpit transformation looks less intuitive than the CM's Brave Gokin Tread though.

Since they went full drone at the end of the show, it would be cool to develop a drone fighter that converted into a GBP or super parts like accessory for the Legioss.

I would expect after 15+ years for there to be massive improvements to the toy design of the Tread/Beta Fighter.

But the Toynami one, despite all its flaws, was pretty damn good for its time.  And the combined fighter mode actually looked like one connected craft (unlike CM’s split-level abomination).

Don’t get me wrong:  I’m excited for Sentinel’s rendition (other than the fixed pose pilot and the lack of missiles on the standard release).

But show some respect for the old Toynami king.

Large capital ships that can get off the ground as even seen in Mospeada is believable. What's unbelievable is the high maneuver ability of a Tread in gravity. 

Then again we have a high maneuver MAC Monster flying around in Frontier
