They did that on the Legioss too though and nothing has come of it. Quote
daBlah! Posted Friday at 10:13 PM Posted Friday at 10:13 PM I see on the listings for the Legioss it's stating a redesign on the transformation: Quote With a redesigned transformation mechanism, this figure achieves a unique and smooth transformation process Is that true? Any further details on the redesign? Quote
Mog Posted Friday at 10:17 PM Posted Friday at 10:17 PM I think they’re referring to how they redesigned the Legioss/Alpha transformation process compared to other earlier versions from other companies. I doubt they’d change the Legioss now without spelling out exactly what they changed from their own prior releases. Quote
DownIsUp Posted Friday at 11:59 PM Posted Friday at 11:59 PM Hey, for those of us who have ordered the store exclusive set from the sentinel store via proxy, does sentinel charge upfront, or will they ask for payment when the item ships? I'm thinking of using tenso to pick the TREAD up Quote

I'm thinking of using tenso to pick the TREAD up From what I remember, Proxy site does indeed charge you upfront for the product item and for their service fee. Domestic shipping on the other hand is towards the end if the shipping wasn't paid during the initial placement of order. And lastly, the International Shipping prior of shipping it to you. Quote

Knuckles7173 Posted Saturday at 12:31 AM Posted Saturday at 12:31 AM Realised I had store credits with NNG, so decided to go ahead with them. I can do without the darn missiles. Probably 3D print some of them on my own later on. Quote

MKT Posted Saturday at 07:13 AM Posted Saturday at 07:13 AM For the reissue Legioss, there is a very minor change. In the Sentinel blog post, they mentioned (highlights my own): which should be this: On 11/22/2024 at 2:48 PM, Mog said: Wonder why they're making the Tread pilot "not movable," when they demonstrated that the "movable" blue one fits just fine. This is quite puzzling & hopefully it’s some sort of mis-translation. Gluing the figure together is just more work at factory, and for customers it is gonna make painting it more difficult. But it is also possible the figure will be a new single molded piece. In which case it still kinda suck that it will be monotone instead of painted at factory. Quote

The 'non-movable' figure is a fixed posed that only comes with the Tread. The movable one is the one that came with Legioss. Sentinel also mentioned that you can use the said 'movable' figure to the Tread. And sad to say, it's still going to be monotone like the ones from Legioss releases. From Sentinel's Blog: https://ameblo.jp/sen-ti-nel-info/entry-12864467958.html Not only can you see the pilot inside through the canopy at the nose, but you can also open the bottom and lower the cockpit seat. A pilot figure (non-movable) for the Tread is included, and can ride in the cockpit seat. Additionally, the pilot figures that come with each Legioss can also be seated in the cockpit seat. In the image, the Legioss Iota pilot figure is seated inside. *Not included with this product. Quote
Mog Posted Saturday at 06:24 PM Posted Saturday at 06:24 PM (edited) Between making the figure fixed pose, putting the missiles behind a Japan-only paywall/hoop, not adding extra missiles to utilize the remaining Tread and Legioss hardpoints, and the definitely higher price, it feels like Sentinel is short-changing us a bit. No doubt I love the improvements in the design, the integrated connecting boom, all the tricks done with the cockpit, and the getting rid of all the gaps found in Toynami’s Beta’s design (particularly in standalone bomber mode). And I’m hoping and praying that we still got solid ratchet joints for all the key areas. But the old customizer in me is already itching and searching to give the beast the weapons it deserves. Edited Saturday at 06:25 PM by Mog Quote
jenius Posted Saturday at 06:29 PM Posted Saturday at 06:29 PM Yep, seems the non movable pilot is just a cost saving measure. I wouldn't doubt that sentinel is holding back on several accessories with the thought that, should sales of this toy be good enough to warrant a green version, those accessories will help sell the less popular color. Either that or sentinel will start showing up at conventions with exclusive accessory kits that we'll all be scrambling to find some way to buy. Quote
Mog Posted Saturday at 07:46 PM Posted Saturday at 07:46 PM I get the business the reasons for doing it. But kinda annoying when they already have an articulated pilot mold they can reuse. And if they still wanted to be cheap, they could just reuse Stig’s bike mold for Rey’s. The bad news for Sentinel is that I have a small arsenal of missiles from Yamato Valks that are just sitting around collecting dust. Quote

manfred17 Posted Saturday at 11:46 PM Posted Saturday at 11:46 PM For the size of this Thread, Sentinel could have designed fully articulated hands. Also missiles should be included by default, for this price, without considering the notion of "store exclusive" or not "store exclusive". Quote
Mommar Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago 3 hours ago, Lolicon said: You can still order via proxy. Bought mine for 43800 with a coupon code. Yeah, but I can't drop nearly $600 for two of these a month from Christmas. Quote

DownIsUp Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I will also note! I ordered from the Sentinel shop recently, using a tenso warehouse address. If you pay with credit/debit then the charge will come shortly before the item ships, not right now. Just use a proxy that let's you pay directly instead of through them Quote
jenius Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I feel like the exchange rate is pretty good right now so I don't mind paying in advance. Still waiting patiently for more listings at the usual stores so I can determine the best price for a Legioss reissue. Quote

sh9000 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago For anyone who missed the TLEAD with missiles at Nin-Nin-Game, sign up for their email notification to know when it is available to order again. They have private warehouse and pay later options. The payment is due on 7/14. They also have a point system that can be redeemed for vouchers. I currently have a voucher for 8113 JPY making my order come out to 42268 JPY. Quote
Mommar Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Those missiles aren't worth the extra effort IMO. It was stupid for them to even be considered an "exclusive." Not to mention there aren't enough for all of the hardpoints they included on their own product. Quote
MKT Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Pilot & missiles aside, I love the whole transformation scheme they have detailed so far. Quite some thought have been put in to execute & solve the bugbears of earlier efforts from other companies, without sacrificing any looks. I hope it feels better in hand than the Legioss that in hindsight can be somewhat fiddly. I love that the Tread's landing gears are integrated, and beefy metal ones too that I wish were also used for the Legioss. Edited 8 hours ago by MKT Quote
Mog Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Totally agree on those points. They solved the whole cockpit/chest issue without making the pilot smaller. And they added two different ways for the cockpit to open. Shoulder missile bays and chest missile bays are present. I mentioned ad nauseam about this Tread being less gappy. Practically everything has been integrated into the bomber itself. If they make sure the joints are solid and/or ratcheted, this will definitely be the worthy successor. At this point, we DON’T have a YF-21 situation. Quote

On FB, the designer for this Tread toy Keiichiro Maeno has posted he will be at Anime Los Angeles in January next year. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1A4Ba1xfk3/?mibextid=K35XfP He actually just left T-REX to set up his own firm, but whilst he was there he also designed all the Sentinel Mospeada stuff, & his work goes back all the way to the Beagle Ride Armors. In the comments section he also mentioned being involved with the Yamato SDF-1 & the YF-21 (should be the 1/60) as well. Quote
