Takatoku Macross Collection Series - "Real Dicast Model & High Quolity Type"

The Takatoku Macross Collection Series consists of 7 mechs in 1/144 scale with the Destroid Monster standing at 1/240 scale.  They have a good amount of diecast and the destroids are nicely sculpted.  The only two VF-1's released were of Hikaru's VF-1J and Roy's VF-1S in Battroid form.

The set consists of the following:

No 1:  VF-1J

No. 2: Tomahawk

No.3: Defender

No. 4: Spartan

No. 5: Monster

No. 6: VF-1S

No. 7: Phalanx

Unlike other Takatoku Macross toys like the 1/55 & 1/100 VF-1's and the Henkei VF-1's....the Macross Collection Series did not get the KO treatment.  However, they did manage to become a part of the Robotech line from Matchbox.  Matchbox milked these released with some additional colors that were mostly not seen on the SDFM series.

Given more time, Takatoku may have released additional figures in this series such as the usual VF-1A Soldier and the Max and Milia VF-1Js.

One set of figures that were at the very least considered were a pair of enemy mecha....namely a Regult and a Glaug.  You can see a picture of both in this Takatoku promotional poster:

Unfortunetly, these toys never came to be.  Takatoku's Macross Collection Series lineup ended at the 7 figures and about a year later the company went out of business.  It has taken 30 years to finally get a Macross collection that attempts an "in-scale" lineup of the mechs from the series.  Hopefully, the Bandai HMR line can finally release the last 2 Destroids, the Tomahawk and the Phalanx, and achieve what Takatoku tried to do over 3 decades ago.

Hi

This is my first time commenting on anything in here. I find a lot of great information in the forums.

Anyway, I have all of these except the 1/240. What happened there??

A 1/144 would have been so much better. In my opinion.

I have a VF-1S. I'm wondering how rare they are and what they are roughly worth.

I'm not selling, EVER.

Just curious and would like an  opinion please.

Thanks

OH I hope this is the right spot to ask this question.

That whole apology accepted thing looks like it would hurt

Hello...Welcome to Macross World!

We actually have a thread for asking about values....

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/42369-the-new-and-improved-whats-it-worth-thread/

But since you are new here...I will answer your query...

The Takatoku 1/144 VF-1S is one of the harder pieces to find from the set...not that difficult, but it comes up for sale and auction less often than the Destroids.

They generally sell on auction for about 50-100 USD depending on condition of the toy, the box, contents, accessories, etc.

BTW, there is also a thread that keeps a running tab on auction prices for various Macross collectibles.....

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/38871-macross-collectibles-market-watch-current-auctionstore-sold-prices/

Here is one that sold recently on YJA....

Oh and no need for a painful apology...instead please assume the double-secret MW welcoming initiation position!

To be honest, it probably would have been too big for what Takatoku wanted to accomplish for this line and my guess is they were already hurting financially, producing and selling a Monster at 1/144 may have put them out of business a lot quicker!

But at least they sort of compromised on the final production size.....if this Takatoku promotional poster is correct, they were thinking smaller...1/500
