I feel like he won't stop until he can justify charging Battlepods prices for it instead of trying to make it like $69.99 and just have a cockpit and landing skids.

It seems fairly priced to me at $90 for an 11-inch long, die-cast metal fighter with the features advertised. I've paid more for less.

If he gets it all done for that price, sure, that would be great. Unfortunately, with the way manufacturing works, the more you ask of your product, the more likely you are to encounter run-ups in costs.

I’d rather they trim it down on the goofiness and make it for less than $50.

I do like their weirdly named Gnerl. I did back their campaign, but in just looking over the way the Kickstarter is setup, I think anyone with some sense of analytics could tell this is born to fail. Offering a number of different figures, and various larger mecha in one shot is a lot for people to figure out. It's also a bad time to have  something like this, considering people are also buying gifts for family and their significant others and all that. I'd actually buy everything they are releasing, but when some of those have a proposed release date of September of next year, yeah, that's a bit too long. They should've just did it for the figures, and maybe even half of them, and with the amount of money they've raised so far, if we were dividing that money into the amount of products, they'd have enough to at least release 1/3 of it. They need to pull this off, and rethink how they want to do this. Maybe start with the Glaug, and a few of the figures, then the Gnerl with more figures, then then maybe the recon pod with others. Better yet, don't do a damn Kickstarter, as people like me have been burned by them. I only back highly reliable companies now, so I kinda trust this, but even as a backer, if this got funded, I'd be extremely nervous.

JOYTOY or Hiya Toys would probably release better looking Zentraedi figures.

No doubt, but they’re not. Hopefully if something happened to allow them to do it, they’d really do them justice and not change the designs

KC shipped my 1/72 MACROSS ZENTRADI-TWO SPECIAL EDITION ARTILLERY BATTLEPODS...hard to say if it's just the parts or the "free" Regults also....the email says partial shipping...but in my account it just says shipped.....this may be my last Macross item for the year

Yeah, mine shipped late last week as well. I'm looking forward to checking them out.

So do we think BBTS will actually receive Regults to fulfill orders or no?

Yes, but they won't have their stock until January or February at the earliest is my guess. Their import stuff always comes via slow paddle boat. :)

The boat is scheduled for December but I don't know when... so end of December if you're lucky or January

I would interpret that to mean if the hail Mary doesn't score the touchdown, KC will look a lot more like Arcadia going forward.

I think now they give up the license entirely. Which is too bad, they just needed to do a little course correction to move forward and win back some goodwill from fans.

...I was thinking more like Yamato...:help:

At this point, I was just hoping for one small pilot fig to go with the Regults sold to meet that goal and a 6" inch version like their regular line...I really have no I interest in a bunch of 3/4 inch action figs...

Damn. He's going for the jugular.

Judging by the number of current backers with 8 days to go.....not sure what going for the jugular will do at this point considering that the intended audience was mostly already dead 30 days ago.....it's just too much to ask for, within 30 days, from new customers who know very little about KC and too much to ask from customers that know KC all too well....;)

I have no interest in the pilot figures. I know some people do so I hope you get them, I just hope the cost of developing these figures doesn't put him in a hole he can't get out of.  I wish he would just stick to making good vehicles/robots without the LED lights/secret compartment gimmicks to keep the cost down, but it's not my toy company.

As a kid I probably would have liked to have the figures to play with, but let's be honest, at these prices we are mostly adults buying these to display on shelves and maybe change their poses every month or two.

Agreed. I'd take a Glaug without a pilot, although I did like the Battlepod interior and would prefer the same on the Glaug.

I've usually eschewed figures, but I would consider getting the Max & Mirya to display with their Valks or a Virgin Road (should I ever get one).

I disagree, that's their creativity, their difference, otherwise what?
Do the same as everyone else? I don't buy from them to have the same as others brands, they proved with the battlepod their choice of a different creativity

I'd be OK if they switched to no lighting gimmicks in exchange for KC staying in business....as it is now, I feel like they are in trouble, which would mean we will get nothing from what has been teased...

Getting something like the Gnerl produced may come down to price. A cheap cool vehicle for the little guy to hop in would be more acceptable to the average buyer. Charging a hundred bucks for a simple fighter craft may be a turn off to getting it made

It's a simple "Macross" fighter craft....so you'll need to bend over either way....:p

There's also a certain amount of creativity involved in designing a product within an achievable budget that you can actually bring to the market, and sell for a profit.

I'd take that over unfulfilled dreams any day.

And frankly, I don't call the Battlepod a "success" yet.  They delivered a product, but it was missing features it was originally sold with, and now they're running a kickstarter to try and make up for what they apparently couldn't afford to produce from the original plan, which means they didn't have a viable plan from the start.  It's a really bad look, and brings into serious question their finances, and their ability to plan and execute a successful production line of marketable products.

Maybe they should have cut some of those fancy extras, and just delivered on the original product they advertised.  I think a lot of people would appreciate that far more than glowy lights and sparkly paint.

The skull face is a nice accessory....would make a nice diorama if they also release the Gnerl...

I think it’s supposed to be on the heavy armorIMG_2998.png.f4faf04d1d059454169a47712249d404.png

But I’m not gonna complain about a cool add on like that. I was kinda already thinking about using a spare boss fights skeleton head.

that pilot was surprisingly resilient though to totally nose dive into the ground and still climb out and take a seat to play with a doll before he finally died
