My billing address was in Hong Kong (which isn't correct) and my shipping address is probably the first address I ever registered on their site and hasn't been relevant for three years.

I noticed that to...it also had an incomplete Hong Kong address as my 'billing' address...however, when checking out the details of the invoice on Paypal, it displays my correct 'ship to' address.....

I sent them an email to see if they could send me a tracking number....

This whole process just seems odd...as I posted earlier, I can't recall another time where they had not posted pics of their finished final  product before getting ready to ship....it's not like we can ask for a refund at this late stage anyway if they had posted pics and there was no fig or the fig was nothing like it had been teased....For the Dana fig, I think they showed the final product on a video before shipping it out and thus revealing that it would be 2 separate figs....TBH, I'd be OK with 2 separate Zentradi static figs at this point...

So, has anyone gotten tracking numbers yet for the Regult / Battle Pods?

Sometimes when KC ships stuff there’s no e-mail from them, but it will be silently updated into the order # in one’s account.

I did suspect KC asked for balance payment when the Battle Pods / Regults are not ready, and this new video doesn't dispel that. It's not a good sign as it points to them needing the balance for continued working capital.

The Battle Pod (the single one with gluu-ger) were one of first items that KC changed the payment system when they went up for PO eons ago, where they were asking % downpayment instead of full payment. I think it came on the back of rumblings of them started to significantly delay earlier figures fully paid for during PO. If I'm not wrong, this payment system of % downpayment only lasted for couple of products before they reverted to full payment on POs thereafter.

At this point not too worried about the money spent...more on the merch being delivered....it started out looking pretty good imo....but now it just looks too chunky...at one point it seemed they had reverted to the thinner legs...but if this last video shows the finished product I am not impressed....I have nothing else to do at this point except wait until I can see them in-hand...

Ha, I'm worried on all counts! I got a quick "we'll get back to you" message after my questions about the address on the invoice. I would rather get all three of my battlepods at the same time but it looks like that won't happen. Even better if they could ship with the GBP.

I don't think they are going out of business...yet

Right now....assuming they get the regults and missile accessories produced...I'm just on the hook for the Hikaru GBP....at this point I don't care if they go back on their promise of a "free" VF-1J...

If fully articulated....that should be a great figure....at long last we'll finally have a proper, fully painted and assembled Zentran fig.....at this point I'll be OK with a separate static pilot figure in a smaller size....

the single Battle Pod’s release month is now July

That seems unlikely, seeing as we don't even have pics of a painted prototype for the pilot figure...

I have no interest whatsoever in this Regult toy, but I really want that Zentraedi soldier! 🤤

The Regult is pointless to me, the soldier would be cool if it’s articulated, but so far it just looks like a static figure to me

Lol. That's epic fail. No ways he can fit in there. You'd think with all the fancy 3D design packages that such missed scaling would never occur with high-end toys.

I kept looking at it the wrong way lol. I thought it’s the front half of the pod that opens outward, when it’s actually most of the pod that opens upward & swings back.

Just a speculation, maybe KC’s trying to implement a solution whereby the soldier can sit full-figured while the pod is open, & then needing to remove  some limbs, perhaps the lower legs, to fit when the pod’s closed just like what’s needed for CM’s Max figure to fit into Yamato’s Q-Rau.

If I remember correctly, KC did mention that the soldier will be made separately available later, so that is something to look forward to.

If they stick with that prototype, it looks like his booty is too wide for the seat. I think they really over stuffed the interior and it just won’t work for an articulated figure. At least not for one the size of that prototype. It really looks stupid opening that way anyway.

I floated the idea back in the day when Yamato was wrestling with releasing their 1/60 Regult, but I really wish these companies would do one of two things:
1) Offer a 'base model' regult with no internals. This version would be lighter so you could expect the joints to last longer and sell cheaper for army building. Then, offer an 'appendix' that includes a pilot figure and internals that could be added ot the base model. A scout conversion kit could also be sold as an appendix.

2) Offer a base model and a 'premium model' that includes the internals and pilot.

For KC, the articulated Zentraedi soldier really should be an element sold separately. It would be easy for them to offload them as part of sales/incentives with their VF-1 toys and they could probably make a few colors and sell them individually for $19.99.

It's not speculation, it was already mentioned that the lower half of the fig would be something that would be molded to 'fit' in the seated position....it was mentioned on the first video reveal some time ago...at this point I just want the fig to be as articulated as their other 6 in. line...

I do not recall KC saying they would sell the figure separately...have a link to a post or video about this?

I think it would kill many sales of their Regults to do this anytime soon....most people as it is may just be buying the Regult for the Zentran pilot fig...

It would probably make more sense to do a scout as a separate toy since most of the upper body would have to be replaced

this company tends to try the most complicated way to do things from the start, then when things go south there’s plan B or C

Ah ok, I watched back that video.. so KC saying then the legs will be swappable for a fixed pose one to fit the cockpit. I assume they still haven't made it work because there's no prototype yet of that. I'm inclined to agree with @tekering now, no painted prototype of figure, and not even any sight of alternate pair of sitting legs means next month release is very unlikely.

As to the soldier to be made available separately, it was in a post by their store on FB, although that was the only mention of it. It does make sense for them to do so, since it's now established the Artilery Battlepods won't come with soldiers & I'm sure there are folks who purchased those want an option to have pilots for them as well.

What I'm predicting is, when the solider finally goes up for sale, KC will pull the same card 'special offer price' for those who already PO'ed the Artillery Pods, and a special bonus accessory for those who PO early.

Articulated fully painted figure at $19.99??? To sell them at that price, they'd have to mass-produce them at quantities of mainstream brands...

Unless the guy in the video is just a tiny dude they are bigger than I thought they were gonna be, with being 1:72 scale

They should be tiny in 1/72 scale, unless they go for “Smoke Break Scale”IMG_2720.png.160438c22a5664354bd2a54e3043d42d.png

  • 2 weeks later...

Really wish there was a basic version without a cockpit or lights... Extra weight and expense... I'd rather own three cheap battlepods instead on one expensive one... Or the cheap AND one expensive one.

Kickstarter?

I feel their current PO process is more or less the same thing....

It's not like you can get your PO deposit back after a year or more of not getting your promised item...

I guess with the Kickstart we will see what the true demand is for their items....I have a bad feeling we won't be getting the Glaug or any Destroids....

In fact....I feel like this Kickstarter move might mean the beginning of the end for KC....

Although I would like to have their Glaug and Destroids....I feel weary about giving them anything via a Kickstarter....I already stopped POrdering anything from them requiring a deposit since the Regults....so this move with the Kickstarter just seems like I was not the only one who stopped either....

Also....apparently they already have the majority of the R&D work done for these toys....so it's just a matter of taking PO deposits like they always have and just produce in the quantities needed to justify their expenses to develop it so far....they claim to have their own manufacturing facilities so it just makes no sense to need a Kickstarter to be able to release these.....it all just seems shady to me....
