Hi.

I recently started into the miniatures painting hobby, and though that, since many modelers here paint their pilots and other miniatures, it could be good to share some of our work, be it Macross related or not, and exchange tips that can help any of us.

I'd like to start by posting a picture of the Hikaru and Misa 1/48 scale minis I painted to display with my DX VF-1J

You did a great job painting those little figures, but...  Isn't any toy or model kit a miniature?

What are you proposing for this thread?

Even though you're right, I wouldn't consider a 1/48 valkyrie to be a miniature given its size, but the pilot would definitely be.

I would suggest we post pictures of any pilots or people figures that are smaller than 1/20 scale, and valks that are 1/200 or smaller.

For instance, here's my  1/48 Blowsperior from Plastic Cretins

My niece asked me to paint the tokens from her Incredibles themed Monopoly.

After priming the figures as seen above, this is how Mr Incredible is looking so far

I still need to make some corrections, but I like how he's looking so far

I just found out about Minitech models last month and have kits 001-012.  The detail is really nice and I will tackle painting them when I have time again in a few months.

Great. Looking forward to seeing your work

Nice work!

Most of my customs are figures in the 3.75” or 1/18 scale range.

Though, I did mod the pilot for a custom 1/60 Yamato YF-21 many, many years ago.  Wanted the pilot to fly the 21 in a more traditional manner:

So, I'm no modeler, at least not on the level some of you are.  But there were quite a few omissions from my toy collection that looked like they could be nicely filled by the minis included in the Robotech tactics RPG set, and maybe some of the Minitech ones (altho, they seem a bit smaller scale).  So I bought some model paint and the main game set.

The first thing I'm going for is the 5 Angel Birds and fan racer in time for the Kitzconcepts Roy release to recreate the scene with my Matchbox SDF-1 where he's yelling at Hikaru as they go into a climb.

Anyway, here's my progress so far:

While I was getting the tiny fan racer at shapeways, I also picked up Isamu's bike for my Macross Plus display.  Really wish I could find a reasonably priced X9 ghost.

Mientras conseguía el pequeño fan racer en shapeways, también recogí la bicicleta de Isamu para mi pantalla Macross Plus. Realmente desearía poder encontrar un fantasma X9 a un precio razonable.

Oooh, cool!  What is it?  The only ones in scale that I've seen were... well over $200 iirc, but it's been a while since I tried, and I may not be searching properly.  Thought I remembered one on shapeways, but it was really expensive iirc.  Considering that it doesn't need to transform or have any features that I need, I'd love to find a model kit or just a lump of 3d print for less than $60, but I'd certainly buy a full on toy for... hmm, $150ish max.
