This picture has me laughing since I always focus on the an action in the foreground. But I never really noticed that while Kakizaki is getting the kaki beat out of him that Max and Hikaru are dancing in the background Quote

Which is to be expected, as this is essentially the 1/20 kit scaled down, which also did the same thing in the same way. IIRC that line launched the other way around - Super Fighter first, then regular Fighter later. Quote
Big s Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Just got notification that my 1-S Battroid is in stock Quote
Papa Rat Posted February 7 Posted February 7 (edited) 🎉 So exciting! I haven’t built a Plamax kit yet and have been trying to find a 1D for a good price. No luck yet. Edited February 7 by Papa Rat Add on Quote

Bolt Posted February 7 Posted February 7 I'm going light on these kits. Just picking a few different ones that look enticing to me. Super and strike Batroids are going to hurt my wallet tho.. Quote

Papa Rat Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Do y’all have experience with HLJ and their preorders? I got in on the VF-1S before the order stop but didn’t receive a notification of having one for my private warehouse. Fingers crossed. Quote

I’ve gotten notifications a night before other members about items and have had the opposite experience where other members were talking about the notification, but mine didn’t come until a day later. Maybe check your private warehouse, it’s possible that it would be there before an email arrives. Quote

Hasegawa releases way more fighters than battroids, proportionally. And they have gaps in the seen-on-screen lineup while also offering variations that aren't on screen like the Minmei Guard and the Operation Bullseye armored battroids. But no VF-1J Max/Super and no VF-1D battroid I don't think Plamax is going to do anything that's not screen-used, but at the same time they do seem to be methodically knocking out the on-screen versions. At this point, wondering if Plamax will do Max/Miria VF-1Js, VE-1, VT-1, or maybe an Angel Birds VF-1. All are possibilities. And then of course I wonder if they'll do armored battroid, and I would be VERY curious to see that, and how it compares to the Hasegawa. I really like the styling of Hasegawas kits, but something in my heart is really reminded of my early modeling days when I look at the Plamax battroids. I'm going to have to get that Kakizaki VF-1A battroid - I hate that it's going to be hard (expensive) to get. Lastly... since they are doing both TV and movie based kits... are they going to give us a overall tan TV style VF-1A cannon fodder unit? Quote

Wouldn’t doubt they’ll milk all the 1A’s and 1J’s. They’re probably holding out on a few items due to recent hasegawa releases, but I wouldn’t doubt they’ll do an armored one eventually or the M&M 1J’s, but the Kakizaki release does make me wonder what will be web exclusive and which will be standard release. Ugh, it would suck if multiple variants were hidden away behind the limited availability system. The Hasegawa Max/Miria fighter combo pack is quite old at this point, so hopefully the Max and Miria VF-1Js are due soon. Maybe they'll come with super packs since Plamax has the super parts done now. Quote

I usually get an email notification that i've gotten the pre order, once i've ordered and verified my payment method. Usually get the email within minutes. And it's listed as an open order in my account info. Quote

Yes indeed, i would be keen to see that as well. also , I'm happy with the variant options Hasegawa does, and i much prefer their realistic styling. But the anime style that Plamax is doing looks cool too. Especially, for me, the Batroids. Quote
Papa Rat Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) @Big s @Bolt Just got email confirmation that the VF-1S is ready to ship! The only Battroid kit I have any experience with is from Hasegawa. I’m very excited to see how this version is separated out. Now do I wait to ship until I see if those Bandai Armored core kits finally show up in my warehouse since I preordered them last June. lol. Like I said, those notifications can sometimes be a little late compared to others. As far as construction, the plamax battroids feel very different than the Hasegawa. More joints and vent options. The Plamax feels a bit simpler though for a kit that is more articulated. Just make sure you still have a little glue handy since some panels are a little loose. Although it does kinda feel like they’re meant to swap in fastpaacks, so you may want to keep that in mind if there ends up a super set that you might want to add on later Quote

I have a feeling that they would only be pack in items, but a separate pack is a possibility. I do think it would be reasonable for something to have the packs with the ability to build without and swap to another kit. Like maybe someone gets a 1J with super packs, to it on a 1S instead or something along those lines. I don’t know what would be all in all included as far as options in the battroid pack. The panels do just come out of the sides and such that would allow for easy swapping on the battroid kits Quote

tekering Posted February 11 Posted February 11 What I love best about these Max Factory battroids isn't the simplicity, or the anime-accurate proportions, or the fabulous articulation... ...nor is it the consistent look of the packaging or the terrific box art... ...it's the 1:72 scale-accurate figures they come with. 😍 Sure, they'll be a pain to paint, but look how well-sculpted they are! Max Factory seems to do really well with small scale figures. The Dougram ones are great as well Quote
Big s Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) Vf-1 deculture package includes a fighter with 1A,J and S heads and movie and tv pilots as well as markings and there’s also a missile pack set . Both up for preorder now Edited February 13 by Big s Quote
Big s Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Kinda thinking that the deculture set would be good for people that bought the initial release since this comes with decal options Quote
