Darth Mingus Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) @sqidd here is a playlist of someone building the model. He is not doing anything too fancy other than applying panel lining. Others have gone on to completely rebuild the electronics, etc. I think he is up to Volume 24 at this point. This will give you a sense of the size of it as well. I'd volunteer to build it for you, but I live in Canada... Edited August 18, 2020 by Darth Mingus Premature posting Quote

I've been emailing back and forth with them and this is their exact quote when asked about SSP's.....which are a deal breaker for me. Q: Are these plans to release Super and Strike parts for this in the future? A: Not so far and probably not in the future Quote
takatoys Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 (edited) You can still get the pilots for the model even if you are not subscribed to Hachette. All you need to do is cut the number labels from volumes 1 to 30, stick them in the self-made envelope of volume 30 and send it to Hachette’s headquarters. Valid only in Japan though. Sanity is Optional Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 I suspect I'll end up buying off YJA or the like. I still haven't shipped vol 29 and 30 yet anyway. Quote

They were actually quite helpful through email. Maybe try that if you can't find one. I haven't seen a pilot come up yet and I looked for a bit. Man, I wish they were doing SSP's. That would have been enough to push me over the edge. If they ever do one in Battroid with SSP's my wallet will break down into it's individual atoms as a byproduct of coming out of my pocket so fast! Quote

Grey728 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 I missed that, yes. Bummer as I was really looking forward to having those since it's right there on the first page that they would. Quote

takatoys Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 Got the pilots and the other gifts from Hachette. Glad they made this available without subscribing to the store. Quote
DWN013 Posted November 16, 2020 Posted November 16, 2020 I'm a lucky guy, surprise early xmas present from my japanese father-in-law! 26 boxes of hatchette, with more on the way. Shame I can't really dig into these for a few months due to space / moving... Quote
takatoys Posted December 9, 2020 Posted December 9, 2020 Got the pilot and looked good, but can be improved. Now Roy Focker has a face! Quote

I’m almost done with the cockpit. Will try to remove the seam line on the canopy glass and will make a stand. Instead of keeping it in a drawer waiting for the rest, I will display it properly. Quote

MechTech Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Ha ha! Does the model come with under-wing radioactive meteor ordnance? - MT Quote
peter Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Lol, actually, I've always wanted to see Saeba Ryo in Skull leader's cockpit. Most epic crossover, ever. It would also render Roy Focker impossible to kill Quote
takatoys Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Insane finished auction price for volume 35! Better not miss the important parts of this model. Quote
Sanity is Optional Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Good lord, what even is in vol 35? (I haven't cracked mine open yet, waiting for vol 100) Quote

Sanity is Optional Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Ah, the main cockpit exterior block. That would do it. Probably ought to crack my various boxes open and check for defects I suppose. Quote
Jasonc Posted May 5, 2021 Posted May 5, 2021 Is March 12th not up for preorder? If so, is it due to golden week? Quote

The white text on the black paint was especially problematic. Might be worth spraying some clear coat in limited areas. Quote

CF18 Posted June 19, 2021 Author Posted June 19, 2021 He noted that the big magnets on the side of the legs basically confirm that SSP will happen, but he wonder how to lower the legs for SSP. Quote
Grey728 Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 Kits 70 and 71 show how the leg will move to attach the strike pieces. I really do hope they come out with a super/strike set that teased on the first issue but we’ll see if it actually happens. Quote
MechTech Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 The engineering in the legs for the gear and exhaust nozzles is cool! - MT Quote
Knight26 Posted November 24, 2021 Posted November 24, 2021 Is it just an add on or will it be a whole new kit? I won't even ask about the cost. Quote
