Mazinger Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 (edited) I hope it connects in some way to the new She-Ra and has a similar depth of story telling. The oingoing 2012 DC comic does a good job of paying homage to and expanding on the original Filmation cartoon. While the 2002 series wasn't bad, it didn't seem to stoke my interest like the original or the new She-Ra does. While it fleshed out more backstory and developed characters, it kind of falls flat. I'm not sure why. There was just something lacking. For the hope of Grayskull, my augmented mechanical fingers are crossed. Edited August 19, 2019 by Mazinger
peter Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Would have been cool if they went with something along the lines of He-Man the Barbarian. \
TangledThorns Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Mark Hamill's SKELETOR will sound great!
Mazinger Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Wait a minute. Alan Oppenheimer is in this but NOT Skeletor? I dunno what to think about that. Hamil's Joker is my favorite version. If there was another animated Batman series and Hamil was in it, but not the Joker, I'd be disappointed. And Ileena the recovering addict is in this?! I wonder if they'll revisit that.
Hikuro Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 I wonder if mark will probe Alan for advice. But the cast seems pretty amazing.
Focslain Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I just want one scene where Skeletor makes light of Merman never liking his jokes. I'll be happy as a clam for the series at that point.
Big s Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Is Stinkor gonna be totally high. I guess that will explain the skunky smell.
Knight26 Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 I am cautiously optimistic, but want to see the art first.
Arthurius Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) Yea, find it weird that Openheimer is playing, but not skeletor. It's like having Peter Cullen in TF, but he is playing only some random secondary autobot. I wonder if it is his age, and them wanting to do many seasons. Anyways, will watch it for sure, as i do most Netflix produced cartoons, they are usually very VERY good. She Ra, Kipo, Voltron, Dragon Prince are the ones that come to mind hat have been amazing for me, and I am probably forgetting some. Edit: Forgot Castlevania!!! Edited February 21, 2020 by Arthurius
Big s Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Kipo is fun, I just saw the episode with Joan Jett. I am hoping Masters of the Universe will have a less kidsy look than the other shows mentioned though.
Bolt Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 Don't expect Castlevania or Love, Death & Robots here (speaking of which..). I'm thinking more like Dragon Prince. But if we can get something less cartoonish, I'm all for it.
Big s Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 I’m not expecting castlevania either, but something more than th average would be greatly appreciated

Bring it on Netflix, i love many of your original cartoons!!!
Mazinger Posted February 21, 2020 Posted February 21, 2020 I’ve said it here before, Netflix’s animated stuff has really been consistently good. And the fact that they bring over so much anime is great. Really even if they didn’t do live action stuff, I’d probably still pay for them for their animated fair. Now I need to finish the last eps if She-ra and get on that 2nd season of Castlevania.
Old_Nash Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 First pics of New He-Man animation https://ew.com/tv/masters-of-the-universe-revelation-photos-premiere-kevin-smith/ So... He-man Lost his Vasco da Gama simbol... XD
mikeszekely Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Still looks pretty dang good, though. Wish more shows used animation line this instead of that goofy CalArts style.
TangledThorns Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 I just hope to hear new insults from Mark Hamill's Skeletor, lol!
Big s Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Saw these images this morning and can’t wait to check it out. Even Orco looks like he’s been through some things
StarshipTrooper Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 I wonder if we'll get a reference to the infamous meme... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32FB-gYr49Y I sure hope so!

Mog Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 I miss the old comics that came with the the first wave of figures. But I really don’t have much nostalgia feels for the old cartoon.

I never kept mine either, but I did buy that minicomic collection book that came out a little while back. https://www.amazon.com/He-Man-Masters-Universe-Minicomic-Collection/dp/1616558776
Big s Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 The little comics had really cool artwork and for a kid they were a bit confusing because the story was so different than the show. Honestly the little comics may have had a better story, but I can’t really remember for sure. I just remember that it was different and I think it explained the sword of power better and why skeletor had half of it

I did of course watch the tv show as a kid but the toys were what I really loved.
