Chronocidal
Looks like HLJ is getting a few of these in, I decided to finally pick up the PF version. https://www.hlj.com/1-60-scale-kanzen-henkei-vf-4a-lightning-iii-hikaru-ichijyo-use-premium-finish-aca82155 Edited April 27, 2023 by Chronocidal

I got one, it came packed very well, original shipping box, white paper around the blackbox. I have ordered a lot from them with no problems. https://moehime-japantoys.com/shop/plastic-model/other-plastic-model/1-60-kanzen-henkei-vf-4a-lightning-iii-hikaru-ichijyo-use-premium-finish Edited April 27, 2023 by betocc
Lolicon
Mandarake has a Yamato VF-4G that someone customized into the FB2012 version. My only gripe is that they didn't sand out the obvious seam lines on the nose before painting it. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1177496033

Came across some negative reviews for them but the PF is very attractive despite me having the regular version.

No problem with the PF version I received, package was good, premium box was good, figure was good.

Chronocidal
FYI, HLJ actually has one more in stock as well, might be a better deal depending on the shipping and currency conversion. https://www.hlj.com/1-60-scale-kanzen-henkei-vf-4a-lightning-iii-hikaru-ichijyo-use-premium-finish-aca82155
Lolicon
The PF VF-4A is a great piece for those who don't have the time or wherewithal to panel wash and decal up the regular edition (and it's a lot of work for sure!).

Their PF is only a little more than I paid for my original non-PF version. 😰

Not to mention even finding decals for the non-PF to begin with. Those stickers it came with just don't cut it. I didn't care about the panel lining, but the decals alone made it worth getting for me.

Used it to make my own "premium finish" version awhile back. That was a lot of tiny decals!

m0n5t3r
Anybody know when the PF was first released and the original MSRP in $s? Don't really want to know the yen price coz the current exchange rate is really low. Is $250 a good price for an MIB one, never transformed? 🤔

Mommar
In '21 I paid 47149 Yen at AE. It was $462 at the time. But that was including DHL which probably added another $60. MIB for $250 would be a steal. Edited March 1 by Mommar

Pontus
I just opened and took my PF outa the box for the first time, and man this thing is crisp! I can't bring myself to transform it, not to mention that bits be popping just from putting out the landing gear and getting fins and such aligned. A little rectangle brown metallic piece fell off when I moved the lower rear stabilizer, and it seems like a piece that should be glued on...? But man that cockpit and pilot are well detailed! Arcadia's touch. Something Bandai will never achieve (and i own a lot of Bandai DX).
Chronocidal
Bandai has been getting -better-, but they still don't seem interested in making "aircraft." They just don't get the differences, and that they should be using real-world references for details, instead of making them up (or deciding they know better than over 100 years of aviation technology development). MKT
I've only one 1/60 VF-4 being displayed for years (the same one in pics elsewhere), and it has never been brought out of Fighter. It comes together so well in that form, that I have irrational fear if I transform out of it, it may never go back as tightly in Fighter. It will go together perfectly again. Sure, you’ll lose some missiles along the way but the fighter itself, perfection!

If they get bought out by some corporate entity, they would be more like…Bandai. And since profit is the primary goal of corporate entities, they probably wouldn’t be looking at investing in a company that pretty much only produces Macross or even more niche figures. I do think arcadia would benefit greatly with some runway space, to focus on lifting up their brand and P/L. They must be under tremendous pressure to keep their margins, just by looking at their announcements and delays. Hence, i would edit bezos out and insert in a Japanese billionaire, who is a macross fan, knowing the japanese inclination to keep IP's in the hands of their own countrymen....😅 Edited September 3 by seti88
