sh9000 Posted April 8, 2024 Author Posted April 8, 2024 Maybe Jeffrey Wright will voice a CG version of The Watcher like the one he voices on What If? Quote

Of everything coming out from Marvel....Fantastic 4 is what I'm least interested in....still, they need to get this one right...as it is, it sounds like the new Captain America may not continue the good vibes pumped back into the franchise from the last Deadpool movie...at least it's not the big mess that Star Wars has been under Disney.... I’m the other way around. Fantastic Four is kinda a big title that really needs a good movie. And honestly, they haven’t really announced anything else that’s super exciting to me other than maybe X-Men and I’m just hoping they don’t screw these up, especially since they seem key for the future of the mcu. I don’t actually have much hope at all for the new Captain America thing. Even Harrison Ford doesn’t sound all that pleased with the experience. But I do want the MCU to get back on track and just do better. Although they’ve been letting me down a lot m, kinda like with Star Wars and maybe they’re gonna start realizing that bomb after bomb doesn’t make their audience or subscribers happy, maybe there’s a chance we could end up eventually having a good MCU and DCU in the future. Kinda surprised that D+ hasn’t tried doing a new animated series for them after acquiring the license. Quote
TangledThorns Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Looks good. Don't know if I want to pay to see it in a theater tho. Quote
Thom Posted February 4 Posted February 4 The first few shots I wasn't feeling it, esp with Ben's huge brow ridge, though I know that is more comic accurate. But as it got going I started digging the 60s future-vibe, and the voice-overs of Reed and Susan were giving a nice emotional timber. I'd say one more trailer and then I'm more than likely seeing this in theater. Quote
Big s Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I kinda feel like Thing’s voice should have been a bit gravely. It just seems too smooth here Quote
seti88 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Certainly got the mood and environment settings looking like a big budget backing it. Very comprehensive and detailed art design everywhere. Most definitely catching this on imax.. Quote
Bolt Posted February 4 Posted February 4 It looks great. Love the setting. Looks like Galacticus is coming. Cool. I hope we get a Silver Surfer too. Quote
azrael Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'm 99% sure I wasn't the only one who could hear a voice in the back of their head screaming, "COUSIN!" and a "Yes, chef" upon seeing Ben Grimm in the kitchen. 🤭 At least they're reinforcing the "family" of Marvel's first family. Quote
Tking22 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Looks, dare I say, Fantastic! I'm absolutely in! I love the retro-future aesthetic, and Thing looks perfection, finally! Quote

I do really like the car. Something kinda missing from the MCU are cool superhero mobiles. Most of the vehicles in the MCU other than Guardians of the Galaxy have been kinda generic looking, and it’s kinda nice to see a comic bookish looking car here Quote
Felix Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Looks good, but I'm suffering from Marvel overload. Think I'll just watch The Venture Brothers again. Quote
electric indigo Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Finally we get a live-action "Incredibles"! Oh wait... Quote
lechuck Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'm curious as to how they are going to fold F4 from the 60s into modern day MCU stuff, if at all? Quote

Yeah Disney's MO these days is multiverse shenanigans. They can do anything, bring anyone to anywhere, and basically just get away with lazy writing to make anything happen that needs to. I'm not too biffed about it, the MCU never had a hint of the FF before because of the whole rights thing, so multiverse stuff is the safest, easiest, least taxing way to bring a proper FF to the MCU. And this way, they can have their cake and eat it too, we're getting a Kirby-inspired, 60s-style, retro-futuristic FF, in the MCU, at the current point in its timeline, works for me. I'm guessing once they hit the MCU they'll have a big culture shock moment seeing how the MCU "holy timeline" is vastly different from where they are coming from. Quote

As others had said, multiverse is their biggest gimmick. It’s also everything else’s biggest weakest most overdone gimmick. Oh well, RDJ as Dr. Doom will probably be somewhat interesting. I just hope the movie is good Quote
Mommar Posted February 5 Posted February 5 Too little, too late. They spent five years wasting time and burning good will. I no longer have interest in the MCU even if the design looks good (I dislike all four of the primary actors.) Quote

And Joseph Quinn was my favorite character from Stranger Things Quote
Jeff J Posted February 5 Posted February 5 If it does well, I hope it makes a billion bucks. If it's not a good movie, full of awful studio interference, well, I hope it does as well as The Marvels. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Too bad I lost interest in the MCU. The only movies I watched was Spider-Man No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine, the last one for me is Thunderbolts. Quote
