Dobber Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 (edited) Uhhh...cool.....I think. Maybe just a little too over the top. Not sure how I feel about that. Chris Edited July 21, 2019 by Dobber Quote

TehPW Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 This reminds more of older shows (like Heavy Metal the movie) but also like other shows this guy has made... Quote
M'Kyuun Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 A little gory- cool. I wonder if he's going to eventually introduce sci-fi elements into it, as he usually does? Hope so. Quote
Mog Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 As long as there’s a good story behind those crazy visuals, he’s usually done well. Seeing a momma T-Rex defend her babies and deciding to bust the kneecap of a dick dino attacking them was an efficient way to get the point across. Quote
Dobber Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 See I only know him from Dexter’s Laboratory and the original Clone Wars. I know he also did other shows like Samurai Jack but I never watched it. So the Uber violent, gory tone took me off guard. Chris Quote

Mog Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 I’ll admit I didn’t follow Samurai Jack too closely. But I remember it ending beautifully. And after the kewl factor wore off in Clone Wars Volume 1, Volume 2 came back with crazy visuals and some of the best stories for the prequels. Best stinkin’ version of Grievous at least. Quote

Yeah I remember liking the longer season 2 much more. Anakins fight with Ventress was awesome! With great foreshadowing. Chris Quote

slide Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 Someone said Genndy Tartakovsky? Shut Up and TAKE MY MONEY! Quote
Mog Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 Forget the mammoth! I want a partner T-Rex that can tag team with me to take down a woolly meat feast. Quote
Old_Nash Posted September 27, 2019 Author Posted September 27, 2019 Lunch teaser Come out on 10/07 Quote
Mog Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 For a series that has so little dialogue, the stories sometimes pack a wallop and the action is straight-up bonkers. Quote
spacemanoeuvres Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 Just binged the first five episodes and I thought it was excellent. Such a visceral story with fantastic art and animation. Can’t wait for the second half next year! Quote
Mog Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 Season 2 (or second half of Season 1) started up yesterday. Definitely always a visceral experience. Quote
mechaninac Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 (edited) Thursday, July 21 - Midnight on Adult Swim... can't wait! Edited July 16, 2022 by mechaninac Adding the premier date. Quote
Big s Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Love this show. It’s so simple, yet artistically complex Quote
Mog Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Watched the first three Season 2 eps already available. These eps “feel” slow plotwise but are still very visceral. Quote
jvmacross Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Second season seems slower than first....but it seems it's about to get going again Quote
Mog Posted August 6, 2022 Posted August 6, 2022 Considering they enslaved a bunch of folks, they kinda got what they deserved. But give credit to Gennedy for making you feel sorry for the survivors. Amazing how they can pull off nuances with this show. Quote
Mog Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 Regarding Season 2, Episode 5: well that was . . . . . . . . . different. Quote
jvmacross Posted August 12, 2022 Posted August 12, 2022 Caveman seems to be unstoppable....perhaps his DNA was altered by that Super Ape juice he OD'd on back in season 1....lol Quote
Mog Posted August 19, 2022 Posted August 19, 2022 (edited) Best way to describe the last ep? Do NOT eff with a man’s family, dino or otherwise. Edited August 19, 2022 by Mog Quote
Mog Posted August 26, 2022 Posted August 26, 2022 Another solid ep. A reviewer waxed poetic about the story and the layering done here. . . and then ended the review with the most Primal of Primal observations: Spoiler “Oh, and Spear disembowels an elephant.” Quote
Mog Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Didn't understand the whole point of the numerous oar montages at the beginning, but it tied up appropriately at the end. I understood the point of repeating the fighting scenes an episode or two ago, but I suspect someone got lazy for this one (or needed to pad the ep a little bit). Spoiler And Baby T-Rex's for the win! Showing one of them hit by an arrow? Genndy, you bastard! You know how to get our sympathies burning with RAGE. Quote
Mog Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 If this is the series finale, then it ended well. Kinda wish the final fight stretched a little longer, especially given the past history. But a nice ending nonetheless. Spoiler Not a completely happy ending. But like Samurai Jack, it’s an ending that will stick with you. It was a hard life for Spear, but he saved and protected his new “family.” Quote
