Big s Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Saw this on tag hobby from Bandai. Totally wasn’t expecting this, I unfortunately can’t read the details. Anyway I’m interested, poseable space marine sounds cool. Looks like there are other super deformed items as well. Quote
Bolt Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Never thought I’d see Bandai doing Soace Marines. I wonder what their Tau would look like, as they’re the most anime mecha inspired ( and my favorite) armies of Warhammer 40K.. Quote
Big s Posted May 11, 2019 Author Posted May 11, 2019 I’m as surprised as you. It’s just something I never would have thought of. Quote
Mommar Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I'm skipping over surprised and heading straight for f**k yeah territory! Quote
Duymon Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 so... how much for a tac squad, or whatever they call tac squads of those heretical primaris marines? Quote
Big s Posted May 11, 2019 Author Posted May 11, 2019 I don’t think there was a price on any of those items yet, but maybe there are other photos or sources that have them. Quote
Sildani Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I have lived to see a licensed chibi Sister-chan toy made and sold by a Japanese company. I don’t know what to think. Quote
Seto Kaiba Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 I had a feeling Games Workshop would eventually cross the line into prepainted collectibles like this... though I never expected it'd be Bandai they'd partner with to do it. Overall, it looks pretty damn good in terms of the fidelity to the original art and build quality. I wish they'd picked a more interesting start to such an unexpected line though. A generic Primaris marine in generic Mk.X Tacticus pattern power armor belonging to the Ultramarines - the Space Marine chapter embodying genericness - isn't a particularly exciting offering. It's more or less the default settings for space marines in the present edition. I mean, if you're gonna do a posable character model shouldn't you do an actual character with a little personality? Like Marneus Calgar, Cato Sicarus, Uriel Ventris, Azrael, Asmodai, Dante, Kayvaan Shrike, Vulkan He'stan, Vorn Hagen, etc. I know I'd spring for an old school Beakie (Mk.VI Corvus pattern) in a heartbeat, since that was the iconic space marine design when I first started out. TehPW Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 maybe it was those series of "OVA style" videos that are on YouTube that light the match? Quote
Kelsain Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Hmmm, depending on size or price, this might supersede my 1/12 custom marine that’s currently on hold. Quote
frankell05 Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 yeah, this one is going into the shopping cart. Quote
Kelsain Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Found more info: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/10/bandai-and-warhammer4-our-powers-combinedgw-homepage-post-2/ Apparently it’ll be a 7 inch pre-painted action figure. Obviously Ultramarines will be first. I might hold out for a Space Wolves one. Quote

Sildani Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 If it HAS to be a Space Marine... Silver Skulls. Quote

As a collector of trooper figs I don't have any complaints, other than I would have preferred an Imperial Fist. Truth be told I would have skipped any character fig other than maybe Shadowsun, Kayleth or someone similar. I am however hoping they release all Space Marine armour patterns of at least the most well known chapters. And...they must not stop there. Bring on the Eldar, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Necrons, Dark Eldar and Tyranids. Quote

It seems a safe bet that, if the Ultrasmurf sells well, they'll move on to the other most popular chapters like the Space Wolves and Blood Angels for paintjobs if nothing else. I'd still like a Beakie though. 5 hours ago, Podtastic said: And...they must not stop there. Bring on the Eldar, Tau, Sisters of Battle, Necrons, Dark Eldar and Tyranids. If they do 'em in the same scale, sure. Quote
Big s Posted May 21, 2019 Author Posted May 21, 2019 I gotta agree about the “beakie”. When I was young all the helmets had the beak, then they stuck with the snub nose around the mid to late nineties. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 In before the Sister of Battle ends up being the highest seller of the line because we all know how much the Japanese love their sexy yandere girls in loligoth attire. Quote

Sanity is Optional Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Bandai-made Tau battlesuits would be pretty awesome. Or Tyranids. Or Necrons. Or Eldar/Dark Eldar. Or... Quote

Personally getting the sister and skitarii. As for the 7" marine it is just the first in a line as well. We'll see more as time goes on. For a starter though it's not a bad one. Quote
Sanity is Optional Posted May 21, 2019 Posted May 21, 2019 Skitarii? Now I want a Bandai-made Titan. Quote
Podtastic Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 If we're doing wishlists then, my bare minimum after the primaris marine is: . Eldar Striking Scorpion . Eldar Swooping Hawk . Eldar Dire Avenger . Commander Shadowsun . Tactical Marine . Marine Terminator Quote
Petrov27 Posted May 22, 2019 Posted May 22, 2019 yes some new Eldar Aspect Warriors would rock totally.... Quote
Bolt Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 (edited) Commander Shadowsun would be awesome . But I would definitely want a Commander Farsight with openening cockpit & revealed inside his Battlesuit. Edited May 23, 2019 by Bolt Quote
Mommar Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 (edited) Hey guys, gamesworkshop just posted color pics of their Bandai team-up. 7 inch scale, stands over 8 inches tall. Pre-orders and price next month. Edited September 26, 2019 by Mommar Quote
Valkyrie Hunter D Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I still can't believe Bandai got into this, but here we are. Regardless, that figure looks good, definitely snagging one. Quote
Mommar Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 I’m going to assume $80-$85 each. It’s not much larger than the Movie Realization Star Wars figures and they’re all around $70. Unless licensing for these is even more ludicrous than Sat Wars. Actually, given those high fees the figures might be a comparable $70. Quote
sumyumgoy Posted September 26, 2019 Posted September 26, 2019 Thanks for the update @Mommar! I'm curious how this one turns out. Will probably grab one at least. Quote
