It’s nice to finish off the week with the Boys. Obi sucks, ms Marvel is ok for what it is. Barry was great and the Boys had slow episode for once. That doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. Lots of wheels turning in different directions. And now even if they can stop Homelander, there may be an even bigger problem.

You know it's going to be a great episode when you get this warning before it starts.

And it was great (not just because if this moment).

I was cracking up at that as well. Great episode with some interesting changes to different situations all around. And can’t wait for the big showdown with soldier boy and Homelander.  Really liked what they did with A-Train in this one.

A few episodes in and my wife is really grossed out this season, lol. Still, I think THE BOYS is the best live action comic book super hero series on streaming. Same goes for INVINCIBLE as best animated comic book super hero series. Who knew PRIME would succeed so well in that genre??

Can't say I like this show as I'm not into Garth Ennis' shock value-style comics. That being said...

Spoiler
  • It's nice that Maeve got a better ending than in the comics.
  • Black Noir finally got some development but then they killed him off. Kinda sucks...Nathan Mitchell (the masked suit actor for Noir in current seasons) will be back in the suit next season but he won't be the guy Fritzy-Klevans Destine portrayed as the person in the Noir suit from season 3. Kinda weird but OK. Still want to see Noir go crazy on Homelander...
  • Homelander's son is giving me a Brightburn-vibe.

I'm going to wait until Invincible starts covering more content to pass judgement there Definitely great so far, but it's barely into the story. Maybe it's timw for me to rewat h that first season...

The Boys is great for everything it's changed from the comic original. Just started reading it, but it hits me as more "Boys Club" shock than the wittier social commentary of the show. Kinda like how The Unbrella Academy comic version is more sparse outline compared with it's Netflix cpunterpart. Kirkman with both The Walking Dead & Invincible has maintained a meatier more nuanced comic story (so far) than both TV counterparts. Though I to be honest, how well Invincible handlea

Spoiler

Thicc Atom Eve and all the beauty of the arc's during that period

Will determine how much I like the Amazon version of Invincible.

Back to "The Boys", I've truly enjoyed every change done for the live action series, except how Stormfront was shoed off, off-screen. Primarily because I think the actress deserved better, but that was a weak way to phase her out. Also, I expected

Spoiler

Starlight to steal enough real V to dose Huey & Butcher in addition to Kimiko after reading that report

But, maybe that'll be a next season plot. Unless they revert back to the comic there

Spoiler

And have Butcher attain it, then force it on the rest.

Definitely in the top 5 of best series that makes streaming great.

However I'm still gonna cancel PRIME this year as they don't have enough in their library to hold our interest when compared to the less costly competitors. PRIME's nickel & dime price increases are a turn-off too!

We just started sharing the passwords for this to a coworker that my lady is friends with. Otherwise, I’d think about doing the same. They’re still getting some movies and a few great shows, but not enough for the price they’re charging. Oddly the b movie catalog is getting pretty good and I kinda want to rewatch Phantom 2040 to see if it’s as weird as I remember

Just finished watching the three episode premier of The Boys Season 4, it basically purged the disappointment from watching 3 episodes of The Acolyte....

The difference in quality writing, acting and just about everything else is ridiculous.....it just exposes The Acolyte for what it is....pure garbage...

Renewed for Season 5.

Season 5 will be last but wouldn't surprised if we see another spin-off. GenV was pretty good.

Good to know however Disney+ has been setting a low bar, that keeps getting lower.

Very solid first three episodes, good to have The Boys back for sure! I'm glad it's ending with season 5, the comic really isn't a long read and they really don't need to drag things out, you can't have a character like Homelander on the brink for four seasons when he's that powerful, it just doesn't make sense, he's gotta snap and say frakk it at some point.

Now, not to be a dick, it was apparent last season too, it's her body and her choice and all, but the actress that plays Starlight really did a number on herself with those surgeries. I mean, damn, she was really naturally beautiful, now she looks, not great to say the least, yikes, what a shame.

Yeah, that was Jennifer Grey level of plastic surgery ☹️ Unless you're disfigured I don't understand why people do that. My wife has always been beautiful but she hated her nose and got surgery to reduce it's size. Still don't understand why but oh well.

So far The Boys and House of the Dragon have been great....even The Acolyte got interesting last week....I may finally start feeling like my streaming budget is not a complete waste of money...lol

I still like the Boys, but this season feels like something is missing, maybe it’s that the other seasons all felt like they found a purpose or an edge, but this one just feels like everyone is just confused and nobody knows what to do on either side, either in their personal lives or for their various goals in the big picture. Hopefully it finds its footing soon since it’s already 4 episodes in and barely seems to have gotten anywhere

I think with season 5 being the final season this season is going to be a little slower on story and character development, they gotta build towards Homelander's break, then next season is the the one we've been waiting for.

I'm interested in seeing if anyone else from Gen V shows up, as it is I believe that....

Spoiler

The new Black Noir is Sam from Gen V, I tried to listen to the voice a bit better on a repeat viewing and I think it's him, he even said he went to Godolkin University. He has similar powers to old Noir, as far as we know, super strength, durability, he's just a dumb kid and got stuck as the basically mute member of The Seven.

We'll see, entertaining enough so far, but yeah, a bit slow.

Was not able to get into the spin-off show....is it worth finishing?  Does it add anything of what's going on in S4 of The Boys?

Yes, it directly ties into this season of The Boys, is directly referenced this season, and one of the main revelations from Gen V has serious implications for this season and next season of The Boys. I also saw the preview for this week's episode and at least two kids from Gen V make an appearance, for one reason or another...

Ok....I guess I'll need to finish it then...

This week had the best episode of the season by far. This was really great. There was more focus and a mix of humor and heart and excessively messed up moments

Spoiler

I couldn’t stop laughing at the bullet proof super chickens or the flying murder sheep

Just caught up with the latest episode...wow :shok:  Great season so far.....every show I normally watch has been really good, with the exception of The Acolyte...which is trying hard to end strong in the final episodes, but it may be another example of too little, too late...

I think the first two episodes were a bit slow, but it's been a solid season overall, the last two episodes were great.

edit: I see a lot of people online complaining the newest episode is a bit too gross and pervy, but honestly, that's not even remotely close to how insanely over the top and nasty, and pervy, and gross Tek-Knight's story was in the comic, everything in the comic is beyond next level, much to it's detriment most of the time.
