News from day 15 https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/two-sequels-in-transformers-live-action-franchise-confirmed-in-development/43083/ News from today https://www.seibertron.com/transformers/news/future-transformers-sequels-to-be-a-blend-of-bumblebee-movie-characterization-and-bayhem/43089/ So... We have now 2 DIFFERENT timelines? Someone can explain to me it?
captain america
In fairness, there are so many animated Transformers series that all use the same basic characters, but are technically not in the same timeline/universe; I don't see why the live-action movies should be any different. Bumblebee was a fine movie, but in terms of its box-office revenue, I don't think it's strong enough a foundation (at least not yet) to carry the whole cinematic franchise. Whether you like them or loathe them, the Bayverse films (save for TLK) have been extremely successful, and it stands to reason that Hasbro & Paramount see no reason to replace someting that isn't broken. mikeszekely
Seems pretty cut and dry to me. They've (finally) decided that the Bayverse continuity is dead, Bumblebee is a reboot, more movies in the Bee-verse are coming, one of them is going to be a more action-packed summer tentpole set in the present and the other is going to be a smaller-scale prequel about Optimus and Bee. Thom
The news I'm focusing on is the sequel to Bumblebee. If Bay isn't involved with the other one, I may give that a try too, but I don't know. But a BB sequel with Prime and BB in it!? What?! I'm in!!

Thom
There really is no comparison. The Bay stuff just looks like a freekin mess.
SMS007
I honestly think di Bonaventura is just spouting crap to get people hyped for whatever comes next and in reality he does not really understand the story (for the given value of “story” vis-à-vis Bay films) at hand. Dobber
Ugh, it is a reboot then it isn’t a reboot then it is again and now it isn’t again. The di Bonaventura guy is killing me. What happened to the reports from Hasbro stating it was a reboot? https://heroichollywood.com/bumblebee-officially-transformers-reboot/?fbclid=IwAR0WCSxgsyImslI35M1Vm4FLdrJjDcObGFDRF3aszoY6zV5J6tilG7Hs8RM From the Bumblebee thread: Chris

They're OBVIOUSLY setting up for a dimension-hopping adventure where the BB Prime and the Bay Prime tag-team Unicron.
