I just watched the first episode of that new Spidey cartoon. It’s kinda mostly forgettable. The animation looks a lot worse in a full episode than in just a preview. It kinda looks like a cheap late 90’s motion capture comic with slightly more movement. Not really a full animation looks, but kinda partially animated. Just a bit sub par, especially after X-Men 97, and that was really just upgrading the old animation a little. But this new show is definitely lacking a better quality.

The story so far is just basic and I’ll admit that it is just an introductory episode, but it just doesn’t have an animated flair to make things exciting. I don’t know if I’ll watch another episode, it just doesn’t really feel worth the time.

I really just wish they did for Spider-Man what they did for X-Men in the 97 series, but I guess they couldn’t afford to do higher quality animation on their most popular hero.

It's ok....more disposable entertainment....

In terms of the look....maybe it takes place in that comic book earth shown in the last Dr. Strange movie....

The story could be cool eventually, but I just don’t like that barely animated cg look. I personally never got into the Star Wars Clone wars because I didn’t like the art style. If an animated show doesn’t look good, it’s really hard for me to watch it.

The comicbook style doesn't bother me at all....with that said, I totally get your point, for me, no matter how good the animation is, if the english voice actors are terrible, I can't watch...which basically tosses out most dubbed anime for me....and I don't partucularly enjoy subbed tv or movies....

To me it doesn’t even look like a comic book. Just kinda looks like those cheap motion comic things that were oddly popular on the early days of the internet

It's not great but that's definitely the "look" they are going for...like the early style Spiderman comic books...with a modern edge that will probably get some people all worked up if the stories are boring....

...as far as the style they went with...whether it works or not is debatable....

It doesn't bother me at all, so I'll keep watching....

Actual polemic about the cartoon

Pode ser uma imagem de texto que diz "KNOW THE WORK RULES I'm a gender- swapped Spider-Man villain! APPROPRIATE AWWW,YC AWWW,YOU'RE YOU'RE SWEET. I'm a gender- swapped Spider-Man -Man villain. INAPPROPRIATE HELLO, HUMAN RESOURCES?!"

They did a lot of changes to the characters in this version, but I still say the biggest problem is the non animation. There’s ways to do limited animation and make it look great, but the artwork has to look good to start with and the art here is basic at best. The Maxx is a great example of limited animation working wonders, but that’s mainly because the artwork looked great and kinda tricks you into thinking there’s more going on than there actually is. This show just has a bland look devoid of detail and when things aren’t moving, it feels like nothing is happening on screen, even during the action scenes

Yes, exactly that. Many people who are criticizing the animation focus more on the changes of some characters, or the supposed "woke propaganda" that the series is doing. But ignoring the fact that it is an alternative reality, that is, changes occur from universe to universe. I see that the series has problems, such as its lack of animation, which makes it tiring for much of the time, and the lack of a (ok, a little rushed now, considering we only have 2 episodes) focus on its main plot. But other than that, it's watchable for now.

Yeah, the other stuff definitely isn’t what bugs me, just the animation. There may be a good story in the upcoming episodes and the character changes don’t seem as out of place as they did in the recent Batman cartoon on prime. I still think that Penguin change was way out of place.

I need a live-ation Gwen Stacy series!

Maybe there will be one on amazon if that Nicholas Cage series ends up something.

personally, I’ve never really liked the spider Gwen character. It always felt very what ify and then name was kinda dumb. It would be like if Bat Bruce or Iron Tony were actual super hero names.

But Bat Bruce and Iron Tony sound lame! /s

Unfortunately, so does spider Gwen. It would be really hard to keep a secret identity when your own name is part of your hero name. Clark Man or Spider Peter or The Winter Bucky or Aquaman( I couldn’t even remember his actual name and he’s already a lame character) or Green Oliver( could’ve been Queen Arrow, but that would be just confusing) are all pretty bad.

I did not read much of the comic, but is she called Spider Gwen, or is that just the title?

I don’t really know, I stopped reading marvel after all the talent quit in the early 90’s, it just seems to be what she’s always referred to as in toys and cartoons. I would think that if she went by a different name, her action figures would say that, but they’re either spider Gwen or Gwen Pool, which is equally as stupid

Seems to have been Ghost Spider. I’ve never seen a toy or show reference to that though
