TangledThorns Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Looks good, I guess. The trailer was a little too much though. Quote
no3Ljm Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Trailer looks interesting. Just too much of hair. And I think it's just appropriate to have a new thread for this. So I'll just repost my post including @TehPW's announcement of the new movie from the previous Hellboy thread: Quote
electric indigo Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Visually ok, but the trailer was all over the place. I would appreciate less silly comic book humor and more of the drama that was a cornerstone of the comic. Still, I see Leni Riefenstahl in the list of characters, so bring in the Nazis! Oh, and Lobster Johnson is in there, too. Quote
Thom Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Not feeling it yet. Maybe it's too soon since Golden Army, but seeing this new Hellboy was a little jarring. I kept expecting to see Ron Perlman's version. Plus, I just really wish they would carry on from what had already been made rather than do another reboot. Quote
Old_Nash Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) I still have the feeling about this movie. He set in between the fisrt and second. Edited March 1, 2019 by Old_Nash Quote
no3Ljm Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 Aside from Continental, Winston is also running the B.P.R.D.? And Alice becomes the Blood Queen? By the way, I like the trailer. Quote
Thom Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Except for that part at the beginning where he nearly gets shot - and the over-reaction - I'm liking the trailer more now. This might be a theater-must-see... Quote
Big s Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 He’s way uglier, but this looks like a lot of fun. Quote
Dynaman Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 If only the older Hellboy could have had the budget this one appears to have, and an R rating. Quote
slide Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Just now, Dynaman said: If only the older Hellboy could have had the budget this one appears to have, and an R rating. I can only imagine the fun DelTorro would've had with a bigger budget and R-rating... but this looks fun too! Quote
Big s Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 I was hearing this one has a lower budget than the last film. I think it’s the amount of makeup effects in the old ones vs cgi of the new one. Those characters in th golden army took an army to make. Quote
Dynaman Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 All the reviews for this movie are really bad, a pity since my wife and I were both looking forward to it. Quote

Big s Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 I already preordered tickets for this weekend, but now all the reviews are terrible. I used some free tickets so I won’t be losing money. I’m just hoping I’m not gonna be wasting my time. Quote
Old_Nash Posted April 14, 2019 Author Posted April 14, 2019 So...Someone watchs the movie? Or RT was right? https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/hellboy_2019 Quote
Big s Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 It’s not bad, but it ain’t great. It’s dumb fun with a bad story so overall I’d say see it if you’re a fan and if not don’t. Quote
mechaninac Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Hellboy fans wanted a continuation/resolution to Giullermo Del Toro's version, preferably with the same cast... the final act of a trilogy. But no, in their infinite wisdom they decided to heck with that noise -- what do the fans know anyhow?.. Just give'em something and they'll eat it up -- and reboot the franchise. Is it any wonder this thing is tanking hard? Quote
Dynaman Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 To be fair the fans weren't buying enough tickets to keep the original cast going. The take on this movie may bring the old band back together again though. Quote
Big s Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I hope you’re correct, this one just makes you wish it was the old cast and crew finishing things up. The new ones budget shows it’s limitations in both visuals and writing. Quote
