The new dimensions are looking good. The v1 traffic signal also needs some work I think.

What's bothering you on the signal?

Just my opinion, but the signal needs to be more elongated, and the signal arm needs to be wider.

I traced the shape from original concept art. I'm pretty sure it's correct.

However, overall size-wise, it's scaled down to fit in printable volume. Maybe that's giving you the illusion

finally got to test the magnet before the New Years Day. It's holding up, but I wouldn't display it this way. It seems too risky. So, it's for photo shoot only..

Looks awesome!

So how can we make it less risky? I would love to have one.

I don't know Maybe bigger magnet? Thicker support arm? More support arms?

Top-down hanger (instead of sideways?)

But all of the above will go beyond what I originally aimed for and will look like this (Again, which is not bad as a product)

Here is final with painted + Decal + light weathering + minor cable work.  Now all secured with screws

It turns out it can hold the Valkyrie just fine. I left it over a day and it's still there. I'm not sure if it's earthquake safe in Bay area :D - Probably not. Better safe than sorry -_-;

I guess I'll put it up on the clamps occasionally. Also, I might make more with some revision for other Hi-Metal-R Valkyries when I have time later.

Edit @ Major Tom - Sorry I just saw it after new posting. That's a great build as usual from wm cheng.

It's actually tougher when the model is smaller and heavier. You gotta hold more weight with smaller magnet

Hi Kye, It looks magnificent! Congrats on a great job.  This might work great for  lighter 1/100 scale model valks.

BTW, did you put magnets inside the valk?

I tried that first, but there wasn't enough room inside, I had to drill 3mm holes - put magnet and paint over.

that's nice! How or where did you find the decals if I may ask ?

Mostly left over from other kits.

Also I usually get from here

I would display this even without the VF-1...looks like it just came out of a Bandai box! Amazing work.

If you decide to do a limited run of built and painted launch arms....sign me up!

ok @kyekyeThis is a beautiful piece! Great work. Now I have to ask are you planning on running more copies? Also, have you ever thought of making panels? What I mean is, I am getting back into collecting and I want to spruce up each area of the detolfs I purchase. I am good enough with city scenes and modeling, but am struggling on how to approach the Inside of the hangar. My intent is to outfit a few of the shelves with inside hangar esthetic with some LEDs placed in certain places.

Another thought I have had is just forgoing one of my DX "catch up" purchases and bit the bullet, get a inexpensive 3D printer maybe the Creatily Ender 3 and try my luck and start learning the how to's
