RedLion Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Has anyone seen this yet! lots of respect to Macross in the last fight scene!! Quote
TangledThorns Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 We watched it and its OK, more like Wall-E meets Big Hero 6. Quote
tekering Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 I thought it was a terrific film. Well-paced, gorgeous animation, with a very rich production design and some great vocal performances. It's a shame the film needed Netflix to get distributed, because we probably won't see any toys as a result... and it's one of the most toyetic movies I've ever seen! It positively cries for action figures. 15 hours ago, RedLion said: lots of respect to Macross in the last fight scene!! I assume you're referring to Ares in powered armor? Particularly the particle beam cannon... ...amirite? I actually saw a lot more Gundam than Macross in the mecha combat, but the anime influence is undeniable. Quote

Agreed, The similarities to Macross were incorporating multiple missile launchers, Targeting the missiles like Roy did in Macross Zero, and the pacing of the last fight like Guld had against the Ghost in Macross Plus. Just my thoughts. I though it was a good film with lots of heart! Way better than the latest Pacific Rim! Quote
