Anybody plan on having their kids go Trick or Treating this year? Some neighborhoods aren't but ours will. We'll give out treats using tongs. And its Halloween so you should be wearing a mask anyways, lol. If it's not freezing or snowing again this year, I'll have a mask on for sure. Using tongs sounds like the way to go. Quote
vladykins Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 (edited) Yep- we decorated, though a number of our flowers are still blooming like crazy, so I had to design the graveyard around it. We also added skeletons and pumpkins to the window boxes this year. Haven't gotten our night pictures yet with everything lit up. Edited October 7, 2020 by vladykins Quote

We usually set up in the driveway with a magical-research set-up anyway, so we're gonna do that (without the canopy we normally do it). We're gonna draw coffins on the ground that are six feet apart to show where people can stand and write "Six Feet Apart or Six Feet Under". We'll use like a skeleton arm thing to hand candy over. vladykins Posted October 7, 2020 Posted October 7, 2020 We also put black cat items all around the yard and have a "Can you count all the black cats" game going for the neighborhood small kids. We move some of them around the yard every few days. Quote
Mog Posted October 31, 2020 Posted October 31, 2020 The rest: Wifey’s been attending way too many meetings this year and did this one: This is the way: This year’s pumpkins: Quote

This was probably one of the best Halloweens in recent memory in the Chicagoland area....Covid be damned!!! The weather was awesome, it landed on a Saturday, and everyone was just happy to just forget about corona for at least one day..... Quote

jvmacross Posted November 1, 2022 Author Posted November 1, 2022 Squeeked out a decent Halloween for 2022 in the Chicago area.....only 365 days left to next Halloween! Quote
mikeszekely Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 I carved this one this year. Other than that, I didn't do too much. I have a few neighbors that really go all-out on their displays, and unless you're willing to spend thousands of dollars to keep up with the Joneses all we've got is a big cute spider and a Mandalorian holding up a sign that says "This is the way (to candy)". But I still enjoy walking with my daughter in my David Pumpkins suit while she trick-or-treats... even if she is getting to that age where she'd rather go with her friends because she doesn't need her old man in case she gets scared. TangledThorns Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 Halloween was rough this year as both the kids and myself were sick. ugh. Quote
