Andre Dutra Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 My new model in progress is the 25th anniversary edition of the YF-19 I decided not to use the decals. Gonna paint all the lines. Here is how it is going To get the right gold tone had to do this sequence of painting: 1-black 2-Poliester ultra shine finish 3-Chrome 4-special gold for Macross (made by Drycolor) Drycolor is a Brazilian brand of Poliéster paint. They create whatever color you need. Quote
Dobber Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Yo!!! That looks amazing! How did you get that purple/blue tint to it? That looks so cool. Chris Quote
Andre Dutra Posted October 1, 2018 Author Posted October 1, 2018 Hi Chris. This effect is of light only. This is a DuPont Blue color. The camaleon color exists. But I haven’t used it yet. My wife wants me to to build a Gundam with a green camaleon color. Quote

Chris I think the underlying metallics have played through the blue layer to create that semi-metallic sheen... it really is a gorgeous effect, isn't it!? Quote

But it gives a much wider options of colors and mixes at very low prices. With kids and pets in the house is necessary to have an isolated space. Quote

Andre Dutra Posted October 26, 2018 Author Posted October 26, 2018 Hi guys. After a long break due to work travel, I’m back to work. The main painting of the body is finished. The legs/turbines are near 50% done. Quote
Andre Dutra Posted November 3, 2018 Author Posted November 3, 2018 Model finished. In the an accident happened. While applying the shiny finish on decal reacted in a way that I have never seen and when I tried to fix it, I made things worse Quote
Andre Dutra Posted November 3, 2018 Author Posted November 3, 2018 This was maybe one of the most difficult painting I’ve done. Was good for the learning. Quote
slide Posted November 3, 2018 Posted November 3, 2018 Unfortunate about the decals not liking your clear-coat... other than that she looks Wonderful! Quote
