Seto Kaiba Posted July 5, 2018 Posted July 5, 2018 Hopefully another 100% original feature that Sunrise can easily disown if it turns out to be a steaming turd like G-Saviour. I'd hate to see them sh*t all over a classic like Char's Counterattack. 1 hour ago, Valkyrie Hunter D said: The only place to go is up after G Savior. dizman Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 So if the movie is successful how long until Disney buys Bandai/Sunrise to eliminate the competition? Quote

mikeszekely Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 It's funny, I just watched the second Pacific Rim. Saw the 1:1 Unicorn Gundam, and I caught the sign for Anaheim Electronics. It got me thinking about a Hollywood Gundam movie. Honestly, I think a lot of the groundwork's already been done. Just adapt the animated Gundam movie trilogy. Sure, it won't be as good, because you know Hollywood's gotta be Hollywood and "Westernize" it (ie, dumb it down), but I think even a watered-down adaptation of the original Gundam movies would have to come out better than G-Saviour. Bonus: if it gets made, maybe we'll get some sweet Gundam merch domestically... Quote
Big s Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Hopefully the actors don’t look like cheap cosplay in a film that looks like a YouTube fan film. Quote
kajnrig Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 ...I'm getting a real Gundam Wing vibe from that promo... I hope not, I really do, but I also think so, I really do. (watch it be g gundam yoooooo) Quote
Vepariga Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Was only a matter of time. I am pleased that Sunrise is in partnership with Legendary so it gives me alittle optimism for the project. Quote

But cheap schlock Gundam is the best, it also has the best hammy Char. If the movie is just 0079 live action I hope they keep "Char you craven traitor" as a silly nod to the live action game. Quote
seti88 Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 while unicorn would of course take centre stage, I thk am more fan-boi 'ing on the possibility of the shinanju in a live action movie...and of course the neo zeong.... Let's hope the cgi is up to scratch... Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 The idea for alive action blockbuster movie goes why back in 1985 ! Quote
electric indigo Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Shouldn't there also be the live-size walking Gundam for the 40th anniversary? Quote
tekering Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Oh, Hollywood won't do anything nearly that good. Quote
eXis10z Posted July 9, 2018 Posted July 9, 2018 Always wondered why there was no live action from Japan itself. I don't trust Hollywood with any anime adaptation. So far all of them stinks. Quote

Seto Kaiba Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Here's a brief interview with Sunrise President and CEO Yasuo Miyakawa about the live-action film project: http://news.mixi.jp/view_news.pl?id=5204390&media_id=141&from=twitter&share_from=view_news It's very short, but at least we can rest assured Sunrise won't let Legendary turn it into a standard American action movie. no3Ljm Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Posting here courtesy of @Black Valkyrie: As I mentioned in the Gundam Show Thread, it looks like there's 2 live action movies being planned? From Legendary Pictures (this thread), and from Netflix. Unless they're the same(?) Quote
