They're finally doing what I said they should have done ten years ago. Alas, that's ten years too late for me to care anymore, but I know some of you will definitely be down for this.

i like his design a little better.  still can't freaking talk, but since it's not bay, i'll give it a watch.  also that girl lost alot of weight!

The face still disturb me...

I waiting more Sara Pitre's art of comic

But G1 Starscream gonna be more cool^^

At last a movie we CAn call Transformers...

But... It a reboot or a softreboot?

I mean, we have a small BBB and don't appear he fight in the WWII...

Honestly, it doesn't look that bad. Seems more in line with the Spielberg idea for the original TF movie. Bee looks pretty cool as a VW, and more properly sized. Still not a fan of the pacifier mouth, though.

Red & White Starscream!

If they're smart, they'll fix his vocoder in the sequel, introduce Optimus Prime and Megatron, and abandon any shred of connection to the Bayverse.

Yeah, and he doesn't look like Waspinator any more.  ^_^

Still looks and feels too much like Bayverse to me. Admittedly, the aesthetic is somewhat improved with Bee, but they kept the same crappy head design, and what's worse, his inability to speak. Seems to me, compared to all the tech involved in his body, the voice thing would be a quick and easy fix.

Starscream is interesting, although why they went with a Phantom rather than an F-15, especially in the 80's, makes little sense to me. Though we were still flying them at that time, they were at their heyday during the 70's, while the 15 was the superiority fighter of the 80's, not to mention the original alt mode- unless he's going to scan an F-15 during the movie. That might yield an interesting toy, anyway.

Well, I hope it pleases those to whom it appeals; it reeks of Bay to me thus far, and my interest, which was already but a thin vapor, has evaporated entirely. I'll wait for comments/reviews just to see how different, or how much the same, it is to its predecessors.

That looks surprisingly solid and the movie has my interest now. I'm liking the new design language of the Transformers. They seem much more solid and humanoid than in the other live action movies. Not a fan of the decision to keep Bumblebees head from the previous movies though. It is the one thing I wished they did away with but you need to keep it for the brand recognition I imagine.

Maybe during the story of the movie Bee learns to talk and the pacifier falls off revealing a humanoid face. Oh well I shouldn't get my hopes up too much. <_<

He was discovered in a used car lot in the first movie, hence Bernie Mac's voiceover about the car choosing the driver at the beginning of the trailer. Guess maybe it's their way of bringing it all full circle, despite the time difference.

I hope this movie isn't the reboot Hasbro's been on about; looks and feels just like another Bay film, right down to the cringeworthy humor (the Rick Roll bit-).

Hailee Steinfeld... Giggity!

80's... Cool.

Starscream actually kinda looks like Starscream & is a F-4... Cool

Bayformers style transformation... I'll deal with it.

What looks like the Army hunting down Bumblebee.... sort of a rehash of the Bay movies.

Bumblebee still can't talk.... not cool.

Overall it does look good from this first trailer, I saw the first three movies in theaters maybe this one is worth the ticket price. B))

I have high hopes so far. The first plus is that Bay is not behind the camera for this one. Also they look more like the G1 bots than the magical-mystery transformers of the Bay movies. I really hope this turns into a reboot of the franchise. If not and I like it, it'll go on the shelf next to Transformers the Movie as the only two transformers movies on my shelf.

The Bee Prequel comic appeals far more to me, both in story and artistically- I like the art style Sara Pitre went with above. The Cold War spy story sounds interesting, and fits Bee's character very well. The Bee movie is similar to the 2007 movie, only in the 80's and this time with a girl as his human master friend.:p

My expectations are so low, that I'll be content if Bumblebee is anything other than an a-hole, murder-happy douche-bot; like in the previous films.

Hmm the single rudder looks as if there are panels on each side opening up when transformation is initiated.

Sure looks like a vf-1 back fold in the end of the transformation tho.

Pretty sure those are the horizontal stabilizers folding inwards along the fin.

Isolated each frame for interested parties. 30 pictures, but all like 80kb or so.

Turns out it's not the vertical fin. The two horizontal stabilizers fold up and out, like Sildani says.

Thanks for the screen caps, helps a lot kajnrig.

Looking at the last shot does it look then, that the tail splits in half somehow?

Because it looks like there are 2 fins folded ala the vf-1.

if the horizontal stabilizers fold into the single tail fin, how would it end up with what looks like 2 fins folded overlapping each other?

I like what I see so far. Humor doesn't seem so bad to me. Like JBO said most of the stuff that made me cringe in the previous movies was the toilet and sex humor. Honestly this has the vibe of a more family friendly movie to me, like say the Iron  Giant, which is what I think Travis Knight is on record saying that is what he is going for.

Also hopefully they will realize that the stars of the transformer movies are supposed to be well the transformers, not hot women, not the army, not annoying boys like Shia Lebouf.
