JB0 Posted February 20, 2021 Posted February 20, 2021 But imagine it was named Perseverer instead. Though in hindsight, THAT name should've been given to Opportunity. Planned mission of three months, ran for over a decade. But we had no way of knowing in advance how much of an overachiever Oppy was. Quote

I’ll see myself out. Quote

F-ZeroOne Posted February 22, 2021 Posted February 22, 2021 (edited) One of the things they're going to do on this mission is test fly a drone helicopter. If it succeeds, you could say it will have been the result of a collective effort. Thank you, folks, I'm here all week! Edited February 24, 2021 by F-ZeroOne Quote

You should have italicized collective for those unacquainted to at least have a Google clue. And yeah, having been a helo fan since my early teens, I'm very excited to see this thing fly on Mars. Imagine the potential if it works.... Quote
F-ZeroOne Posted February 24, 2021 Posted February 24, 2021 Done, though it won't show up in your reply. And thanks, I was expecting to be dragged off stage by the Macross World crook... It would certainly open up possibilities not only for exploration but also potentially resupply of Martian land missions... Quote
505thAirborne Posted March 4, 2021 Author Posted March 4, 2021 Not the smoothest landing ever (see that little bounce there) but I'll take it. Wasn't sure there for a moment. Nicely done SpaceX! Quote

Nicely done SpaceX! Had a bit of a bigger bounce a bit later when the ruptured Methane tank caught; still a phenominaly successful test. Looking forward to them getting a functional landing gear system in place and seeing them intentionaly get vehicles airborne multiple times. Quote
Thom Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Way to go SpaceX!! Awesome flight - with a celebratory POP at the end! Quote

505thAirborne Posted October 13, 2021 Author Posted October 13, 2021 Captain Kirk finally goes to space! Now lets send Captain Picard! Quote
TangledThorns Posted October 13, 2021 Posted October 13, 2021 Shatner at his best. Amazing how great he is doing at 90 years old. https://www.mediaite.com/tv/i-am-overwhelmed-william-shatner-hugs-jeff-bezos-gives-emotional-address-after-returning-to-earth/ Quote
kalvasflam Posted October 14, 2021 Posted October 14, 2021 It's somehow fitting that Captain Kirk is riding into space with that particular rocket. One wondering what kind of rocket Captain Picard would use.... may be one with a British accent? Quote

505thAirborne Posted August 29, 2022 Author Posted August 29, 2022 Well, better something doesn't function properly on the launch pad vs. half way into orbit. They'll get her fixed and ready to fly soon! Quote
no3Ljm Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Krispy Kreme Artemis Moon is still good to go. Quote
Thom Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Too true,. Better scrubbed on the ground than scrubbed in the air. Quote
JB0 Posted August 29, 2022 Posted August 29, 2022 Aaaaand delayed again. Launch windows on September second and fifth, and if they can't make either of those, the rocket's gotta go back to the vehicle assembly building again. Quote
