Sanity is Optional Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 With proportions like that, those better be gatchapon toys. Quote
jenius Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I think I covered these in my SDCC update. Quote
spacemanoeuvres Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Their other offerings don’t look like anything to write home about but I like SD figs so I’d like to see them. Quote
HardlyNever Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 Looks like they used this shot as inspiration for the Regult: Can't say that is a flattering version of the Regult. Quote
jenius Posted January 24, 2018 Posted January 24, 2018 I think they used to the old Takatoku vinyl series for inspiration. Quote

spacemanoeuvres Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I like the regult and sdf-1. The valks look a little funny though Quote
jvmacross Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 I think I have enough quirky Macross stuff....accept no imitations! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/gallery/album/618-jvmacross-ohsato-macross-collection/ Old School Macross Quirkiness = COOL Modern Macross Quirkiness based off nostalgia = LAME Quote

chaff.g Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Aren't these supposed to be small, Kinkeshi-inspired vinyl figures? I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result. Quote
sh9000 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Rick looks like Chucky and Minmay looks like the girl from The Exorcist. Quote
yman1437 Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Now I can't unsee these hideous globs... Quote
RoadWarriorMax Posted February 1, 2018 Author Posted February 1, 2018 (edited) They could be fun .. agree Rick looks like Chucky and Roy and Minnay not much better. The regult, Vf-1, SDF, and gerwalk look the best of the bunch. Edited February 1, 2018 by RoadWarriorMax Quote

Slave IV Posted February 1, 2018 Posted February 1, 2018 Tomahawk looks pretty good...I liked M.U.S.C.L.E figures back in the day but have no need for these. Quote

Yeah, I actually liked muscle figs back then too. Was around the same time I was watching Robotech/macross. But these seem entirely out of place. MUSCLE was mass-market disposable stuff. This is mass-market disposable product aimed a very niche, almost entirely high-end market (now-a-days, at least). Not sure what they are thinking with this. Quote
Loop Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 I love how they didn't even change the pigment of the toys, they are still printed in that Muscle toy flesh tone Quote
Pulltoeject Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 Paint these up and you've got an army for an RPG session Quote
jvmacross Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 The original Macross keshi are better.... They even ripped off the SD card gimmick..... Quote
jenius Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) 'Ripped off' is the wrong word, perhaps 'recreated' would be better. It's not like they were trying to be original... the whole schtick is to be a timewarp. Edited June 22, 2018 by jenius Quote
jvmacross Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 (edited) LOL..... Nah.....it's a rip-off.....they even have the "case" now.... Edited June 22, 2018 by jvmacross Quote
sh9000 Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 I might get the Super7 ReAction SDF-1 and maybe the Regult. Quote
easnoddy Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 The Sdf-1 would be thre only one I'd go for. It's funny, they can't make a decent quality Macross toy (they tried), so they keep spitting out ugly SD toys. Quote
jenius Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 What decent Macross toy did Super7 try to make? Quote
Felix Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 I picked up a set of both the pink M.U.S.C.L.E. and the can. I kind of dig them for what they are. I know they have the dreaded "R" word attached to them, but for desk candy they work. The SDF-1 is pretty nice. Truth is I like most of the Super7 M.U.S.C.L.E. figures. The Alien ones are pretty nice especially the Power Loader and the Queen. Quote
easnoddy Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 There should probably be a Robotech toys board. Quote
