Bandai DX Chogokin 1/48 VF-1

I’m ok if it is 1/48 scale.  It will be my first Valkyrie in that scale.

Chest-plate looks too wide and too "flat" to me---it should "curve back" a bit.  (In other words, the top of the fuselage in fighter mode, should be arched a bit).

The chest stripe is so wrong.

Still, I'd like to what the price is going to be for this, if it's ever released

I take my word back, its big alright. I wonder if its going to be a Tamashii exclusive.   Even though it looks awesome but still I prefer the HMR valks scale.

Da hell..! we have too many 1/55s 1/60s 1/48s c'mon Bandai give me the one showed on 2015 , make a VF-1J DX for god sakes! with hangar , movable parts , vehicles n personnel , something that can be the center of my collection!

At first I thought this would simply be a scaled down version of the 1/35 prototype, but there appear to be multiple differences between the two. Sadly, those differences make the toy look worse IMO. I hope that I'm wrong and that it's just due to the photo, because Bandai has been putting out some impressive toys in their Hi-Metal R line and this looks like a step backwards.

Up-close it's kinda have a 'blocky' look.

It’s like a chunky monkey version 2 with modern engineering and poseability.  I like it.

Agreed and agreed. I've been hoping for a 1/55 refresh ever since I handled my first HiMR.

Still hoping for a relatively 'small' scale, in the area of 1/55 or 1/60. Anything bigger will make this cost and size prohibitive for me to collect.

It simultaneously manages to look better and worse than the old 1/48 Yamato version. 

It's amazing.

It will definitely be interesting to see how this design evolves before release (if it is released).   

I wonder how the Japenese market is responding, as their reaction (among other factors) will probably determine if this is released or not.

i know it's ambitions but i would love if someone was able design the heat shield to come down in fighter mode. as the VF-1S did entering Earth's atmosphere.

calling it a heatshield, it should be put to use.

Sounds like there's 2 different scales of aircraft incoming.

Honestly, I'm not liking the proportions of the shoulders and chest at all. I far preferred the look of the 1/35 prototype they showed a few years ago.
